Traditional English pub dating back to 1654 with a luxurious country feel. Real fireplaces throughout. Unique interiors, freehouse. Real ales, cask beers, excellent wines. The food is locally sourced, regularly updated and delicious. A stunning private di
Visited this place for the first time since it's been a restaurant. Previously, it was a pub.Went with a group of people. There is a good selection of food on the menu, all at reasonable prices. You can choose between having starters and mains, or simply a selection of small plates. We had a variety of both. The waiter/owner ensured that all the food was served at the same time. The food, without exception, was delicious. The portions were huge, although it was explained that they could do smaller lunch versions of some of the dishes. It would have been nice to see a lunch menu if they had one. However, we were very impressed with the food and the standard of service. This is certainly one of the best places to eat close to Sittingbourne.

Went for meal with my wife a couple of weeks ago and looks like we got a poor lunchtime! Arrived just after midday and were the only couple in restaurant until another party arrived later. Friendly enough when we ordered our drinks and food - a beer and soft drink with Lasagne and Hunters Chicken. The barman said he will bring the drinks over when done. Some 15-20 minutes we spotted another bar person in the other bar and asked about the drinks - 'what would you like?' They had forgotten the order. The food came later and we started. Eating my hunters chicken I noticed that it did have any bacon and opened it up so my wife could verify it. Waited to see if the staff came to check all was OK. Still no one in view so decided to continue because who wants to dine at different times if it needed redoing. Probably the poorest Hunters Chicken I have had. My wife's Lasagne was also disappointing and left most of it. The owner/original bar collected the plates so I asked how they cook my meal with or without bacon and that the chicken was dry - he did not know and went and asked in the kitchen. Where we heard 'You forgot the bacon.... No I did not.... ' Well they certainly did. He returned and said he would adjust the bill. A reduction of £2. We can understand mistakes when a restaurant is very busy but when only a handful of diners!

At the heart of the picturesque Kentish village of Ulcombe can be found the Harrow Inn. Unfortunately, due to the rapid decline of pubs in England, the Harrow pulled its last pint in 2007. On 3rd August 2019, the pub opened its doors once again, showing o
Found this little gem cos we needed somewhere halfway between Whitstable & Tonbridge and this quaint little village of Stockbury fitted the bill...Booked a table for Sunday lunch. Arrived early but were sat and served straight away. Superb value for money 3 courses for £23; 2 for £18 or just a main for £12.50Roasts were lovely with plenty of fresh veggies... but the star for me was the sticky toffee pub served with butterscotch sauce & honeycomb ice-creamReally friendly staff and lovely little community pub which deserves to be supported. Weâll be back to sample the mid week menu.
