Wow what a lovely lovely pub. As soon as we walked in we knew it would be good, we could smell the wood burner and hear kids giggling and people chatting, such a lovely atmosphere. The staff were excellent and took the time to explain things on the menu for us and talk us through our drink choices. The food was absolutely wonderful, simple but tasty and very well presented - they could easily charge twice as much and i'd happily pay for it.

First visit today, drove from Brentwood because of the excellent reviews. Went for the Sunday roast which was very nice. Warm welcome, excellent service, all the staff are very friendly and look happy in their work - must have a nice boss! Neither me or my wife like parsnips or carrots which comes as standard so next time we will express a preference for vegetables. I had the pork but did order an extra slice which costs another £2.50, my wife had the sirloin which consisted of two quite thin slices, for £16 I think there should have been a little more meat on the plate, we know for next time. The pub itself has a lovely setting, spotlessly clean with a fantastic atmosphere, friendly people and a real genuinely nice county pub, very busy which says it all and also has nice outdoor seating areas, back soon
