We happened to be driving through the area and decided to try . So glad we did ! The waiter was so friendly and attentive. We had various starters from duck pate to the black pudding. We all really enjoyed it . Two of us had the curry which was excellent! Non of that chain food you often find with bars . Another had the burger and another had the stuffed chicken . We all cleared the plates ! Highly recommend this place ! A great choice on the menu and you get excellent portions . If anyone is rating this place as terrible they seriously need to get a life ! I would recommend this place to everyone and will certainly go back again and again . Cheers guys ! You do a first class jobThank you so much for your kind feedback! See you again soon!

Visited on a busy Thursday evening. A friendly local pub with houses nearby so be quiet as you leave! Good selection of reasonably priced meals & a good selection of beers. Servings are large and the chicken and mushroom stroganoff was well presented and pretty good. For dessert, I had to have the chocolate fudge cake which was pretty amazing.

Well after a Sunday walk round the reservoirs we thought that we would give the Yew Tree another try. The first time we visited the service was terrible (non-existent). We visited our second time Sunday afternoon late-on 3rd September. Well what can I say,,,,âan absolute transformationâ compared to our last visit. It was like a completely different run establishment. I like real ale and the young lady behind the bar offered me a taster on all 3 beers. They were all excellent and hard to choose between. The pub/restaurant was seriously busy but the staff managed to locate a table for us. The service was âpremier leagueâ with a smile and couldnât do enough for us. âALLâ the staff were charming.......Now then!! Regarding the food,,,,,there is nothing that can touch it and I am serious. We had the camembert cheese for two to start with which writing this review Iâm slavering. For mains we both had the Chicken and Ham pie with short crust pastry mashed potatoes and fresh veg. This is the best pie that I have ever had anywhere. Will we be back? âABSOLUTLYâ without any shadow of doubt. Well done and keep it up.

The Astley is beginning to make good vibes in the pub food trade with their excellent food and portion sized meals. Our choices tosay were Chippy style fish and chips with mushy peas plus prawn sandwich and salad . The service was perfect, the food we ordered was well presented and certainly tasty anx easily met our needs; great portions. Good drinks selection. There is ample seating on various levels plus an outside area that gives even more space.
