Their stake is perfect and the staff is very cheerful and friendly. I saw some other meals around us that looked amazing and the other guests also enjoyed eating there. Everything there is authentic Italian, the ambiance and the staff as well. The waiter offered a nice wine, they have plenty of good wines. The food is a bit expensive but still a reasonable price for the quality, absolutely recommended

First visit to this small country auberge located about 20 minutes from central Lausanne. Since mid-2015, it has been taken over by a young but experienced French chef, native of Alsace, who works alone in his kitchen, using only fresh ingredients. Part of the establishment is set out as the local tavern and another section is the designated restaurant, which an accommodate four or five tables of four, so making a reservation is to be recommended. The decor is clean and simple, in complete contrast to the dishes served. At lunchtime, there is a business menu (CHF 55 per person), whilst in the evening there are two menus (CHF110) and, for a minimum of 6 diners, a surprise menu at CHF 155. Not cheap by any standards but it is a real pleasure to pay for such high quality food. The restaurant rates 15 with Gault Millau, but would probably rate 18 if the decor were fussier. The menus are changed every two months, thus promising more delicious originality in the plate. The main difficulty is in choosing one's dishes because they are really all both tempting and exciting, providing innovative blends of herbs which may be slightly frightening at first but which are pure delight when tasted.Apart from the set menus, there is also à la carte. Interestingly, for those dishes which appear on the set menus, the portions served à la carte are more substantial. There is also a very comprehensive wine list, maybe not the largest selection, but more than adequate to accompany one's meal.Service is efficient and extremely friendly and each dish is described in detail. A feature is the selection of nibbles served before and after the meal, ensuring that one's palate is fresh and receptive.Highlights of our meal were the lobster starter, perfectly cooked fish, a sweetbread roll and beautifully tender entrecôte steak, served in delicate slivers. Desserts were all tempting - one cannot praise enough the delicacy of the sorbets! There is a small terrace by the side of the tavern but, located close by the road, it is not overly attractive. Next to it are parking spaces for about 5 cars but more space can be found across the road. The Charrue is for the well-heeled serious food lover and definitely not for anybody looking for a fast fix for their hunger. There are far worse establishments elsewhere to cater for that custom!

Be sure to know the oppening - closing hours of the restaurants... or you might be not very well received... that was my mistake... but after that... leaving the romantic lunch aside and getting into a more practical approach... it was reasnable... not to repeat again... regarding price... they have a cheapper menu so you'll spend something like 50chf for a 2 persons meal.
