Went to the New Inn after being recommended by our Airbnb host in Alne. The pizzas (specifically recommended as New Inn speciality) from the wood burner oven were sublime, and the pub itself is situated on an idyllic village green with pond and ducks and hardly a soul in sight. Very tranquil!Host was perfect too, quick and quality service. Would definitely go back.

The Tiger is a family run village pub, with the ethos of excellent quality pub food, served with perfect quality cask ales and a superb reputation.
After having had a lovely meal here earlier in the year, we were very much looking forward to our Sunday Lunch. Unfortunately we were disappointed. The roast beef served to 3 of our party of 4 was certainly not of an acceptable level. Visually the beef was extremely thick and very fatty. We did attempt to eat it but quickly gave up. It was extremely tough to cut due to the excessive thickness and fat and was hard to chew. After complaining, our meals were quickly replaced. The replacement meals were fine. The meat sliced much thinner and clearly not excessively fatty. The waiting staff were very polite and helpful, but Iâm saddened that the chef thinks it is acceptable to send plates of food from the kitchen that are clearly poor. Standards need to be maintained. On a positive note the puddings were lovely. Sadly though I will not be rushing back.

We found this restaurant on TripAdvisor and decided to booked it for Sunday lunch.I'm glad we did booked as it was very busy from it open it door.I had prawn tempura,it was nice. And roasted beef for my main ( I did asked for as rare/pink as possible) and I wasn't disappointed. The beef are soft, juicy and almost melted in the mouth. And my boyfriend had chicken liver ( very tasty I must say), roasted pork + roasted beef for his main. We also shared sticky toffee puddingThe service are excellent!!

So there you have it, a cracking bank holiday Monday with people relaxing and thinking - let's go to the pub and have some lunch - not here. Not serving food today as there is a fuel problem to the kitchen we are told. What's wrong with a sandwich other cold dish which is just what's needed on a cracking day. To be fair at least they bothered to open which is more than can be said for their competitor.Your comments are disgraceful. You cannot run a commercial kitchen without hot water (this surprisingly is provided by gas!!) to clean down your prepareas or wash up areas. It breaks all our EHO rules.

A warm and friendly pub which specialises in great service and fantastic homemade food. All our produce is sourced locally where possible and our chefs strive to make new and exciting dishes
We were staying nearby and decided to come here for Sunday lunch. A good decision! Nice location out in the countryside with plenty of parking. Lovely place inside and nicely thought out and well decorated. Staff were all very friendly. We had three courses all of which were excellent. Well presented food and taste to match. Could do with more places like this one! Excellent.and could have stayed all day.

Had a couple of visits during month of August. First time for drinks and second time for a Meal. Pub had a nice friendly atmosphere and food was of good standard and reasonable price.
