The Foresters bar & restaurant offers a wide selection of food and drink and is open 7 days a week. All our food is freshly cooked to order using locally sourced fresh ingredients. Located at Landal Darwin Forest the Foresters is open to both Park guests
We ate here yesterday after visiting the adjacent play centre. Hubby had chill, chips and garlic bread and I had sea bass with noodles vegetables honey and soy. Both were exceptionally good!!our children both had pasta and sauce - it was expensive at £6 but the both ate the lot. All meals were good portions too.Only thing that let it down was the service. Hubby needed a second drink but he wasnât asked. We wanted to have desserts but we waited 10-15 minutes after weâd finished eating before flagging down waitress. She hadnât thought to approach us. We decided it would just be better to get the bill as kids were getting restless. They lost our on our spends there 4 puds and 2 drinks! I wouldnât be pleased if I was the owner. I would visit again based on food alone -it was gorgeous! We are really pleased that you enjoyed your meals at the Foresters and we are sorry that on this occasion our service was not up to its usual high standard. Please be assured that we will be reviewing your feedback.

Visited Saturday night and had some great food, service in the restaurant was very friendly, menu had the usual pub food and also a specials menu which gave us plenty of choice. I had the fish and chips which was huge, homemade tartar sauce was a nice surprise. My wife had the lamb special which she said was lovely. Look no further for a great meal

The Gate Inn is a family friendly pub and restaurant situated in the heart of the picturesque village of Tansley. This well-loved, popular, free house has undergone an extensive renovation, inside and out, bringing it back to its former glory as the centr
Went for lunch today after reading what others had thought and was less than an hours drive. Firstly the good points: food was great , service was friendly and attentive , has been decorated to a good standard so was pleasant to sit in and eat. Now what I would call minor negatives: the portion sizes are way to big , reduce the price by a pound or two and serve a normal sized plate of food then there wouldn't be so much waste , we left feeling was lovely food but far too much for one to eat and we sent back between us a good plate sized amount of food, the only other minor negative was the onion rings , instead of making them the size of donuts and undercooked make them edible sized and cooked right through... these negatives are our opinion and wouldn't want to put anyone off going to the Gate Inn. We will be back and will try something else of your substantial menu (maybe even the childrens portions) .. Many Thanks !!

Recently subject of a spectacular renovation and extension, stunning contemporary dining rooms blend seamlessly with old English charm maintained beneath the low slung and beamed ceilings in the original Farmerâs Bar. Our casual dining menus feature a wea
My wife and I cycled over to the Cock Inn for lunch and it was the first time we had tried this newly renovated establishment and we certainly weren't disappointed. It is a very popular, busy place but nonetheless the staff were welcoming and the freshly prepared food was excellent. As the food is freshly prepared there can be a little wait but it is worth it.My other advice to anyone is always book a table.Just one comment for the management to consider is for a secure bicycle anchor point(s) or parking area. Whilst one of your boundary fence posts did the job, I'm sure a better arrangement could be sorted just like the electric charge points for cars.A big thanks to all the team.

The Remarkable Hare is under new management, we are in the process of finalising our menu's and are very excited to meet all of our customers new and existing.
Visited this pub twice during our weekend in Matlock. We took our puppy for his first lunchtime pub visit. The staff were so welcoming and have him a fuss. We got a table with lots of space and our son loved the games provided. The food was lovely, especially the cauliflower cheese and roast parsnips. We would definitely go here again. Iâd done lots of research before our weekend away re dog friendly places. This was definitely the best. The other places we went to allowed dogs in but we didnât feel as welcome. The Sunday lunch musician was a nice touch too.

We make classic British food. All the locals eat here, which tells you a lot.
Stayed for a couple of nights and had a pleasant stay with friends. Room was adequate but bathroom in room four was on the small side. Eat in one nice and we all had decent meals. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Range of beers in the bar was first class too.Hi CamspigTanks for the review. Glad you enjoyed the stay. I'm glad you bought up room 4 bathroom size, because it's being upgraded this very month. But otherwise I'm sure it would ha e been a 5 star/bubble experience.RegardsLee

Very difficult finding a parking space but finally managed. Menu was quite extensive for Sunday lunch. Food was very good but service was not. We weren't even asked if we wanted coffee after the meal, just handed the bill.Thank you for your comments on the good food and for pointing out your dissatifaction of some aspects of our service, we were very busy yesterday but this is no excuse for the poor service, It is not our normal practice to give the bill without our customers requesting this. We will speak to the staff who were on duty yesterday to make sure this doesn't happen again.
