Reviews on Fusion food in Western Cape, South Africa. South Africa’s most popular tourist destination offers the urban thrills of Cape Town, its adjacent wine country and an aura of the rich political history of South Africa. The Overberg's perfect whale-watching perches provide excitement of a different nature. The Garden Route's lakes and forests and the Klein Karoo's ostrich-farming towns and vineyards present another take on the Cape. For extra kicks, try bungee jumping or cage-diving among Great Whites.

Koornlands Restaurant is the longest serving restaurant in Swellendam, established in 1994. We pride ourselves as being amongst the finest. Warm, friendly and always professional. Our menu often changes due to the seasons and availability. A menu gegustat

De Grendel Wine Estate is home to the award-winning De Grendel Restaurant where the Graaff familyâs passion for winemaking extends to the philosophy they employ at the estateâs restaurant: the use of in-season and locally sourced fresh produce, and a menu
We went here on Saturday the 5th September 2019, there were six in our group. From the moment we got out of the taxi, the place took our breathe away - WOW!The whole vicinity is absolutely stunning. The walk down to the restaurant via with a view into the barrels was a great touch. The food was excellent; every single dish that was presented to us came with its own introduction by a member of staff so we knew exactly what was on our plates. The service was all around was excellent. Our main host for the evening was Christopher, he went above and beyond.Overall, this place is a must visit when you are in Cape Town. I have very fond memories of this place and guarantee you will, too.

Situated in the old railway station of Great Brak River you'll find this hidden gem, the Transkaroo Restaurant. With it's open rafters and ostrich shell chandeliers, overlooking the estuary and Indian Ocean you are quickly transformed to a bygone era of s
Friday night dinner at this place. Went there based on Tripadvisor reviews. We were not disappointed. This is a lovely restaurant with great ambiance. The service was spot on and the food fantastic. The lamb dishes can be recommended. Nice touch with the wines, no wine menu but a "bar" where all the wines are displayed. You go and choose what you want & they bring it to the table. Great selection of wines.

While staying at Hunters Country House we had a meal at Sage and one at Zinzi. Zinzi was nice , lovely setting, but we preferred the more personal service at Sage. Food was good. Bread and dips to start, then we had duck confit and a pork belly. Latter came with a terrible piece of crackling but mash was good. Nowhere in SA have I had crackling that is crispy. Too few carrots. Nice MCC wine and lovely Malva. Good but not as good as our previous night at Sage.

Our waitress Andy was delightful and knowledgeabl, the restaurant manager Flo was amazing and charming. The food was world class, we came from Switzerland and especially booked here to experience what we had heard so much about.Beautifully prepared imaginative menu with superb wine pairing. As in all establishments the chef/owner normally appears sometime during the course of the service for a short exchange with his guests, but Matt spent the entire evening talking with his regular customers and ignored the rest, he came past us and looked me straight in the face, I said âgood eveningâ and he turned tis nose up and walked purposefully away!My whole party were shocked and quite disgusted at this extremely rude and arrogant behaviour, and the people we were dining with who have just moved to the Cape have vowed never to return again! What a shame!Matt; you should stay at home or meet your friends elsewhere and leave the people sponsoring your lifestyle to enjoy their meals without suffering your arrogance,Thank you for the splendid review on the food, we are an incredibly passionate bunch, obsessed a bit , who love to get creative with the flavour combinations and wine pairings, and I believe that this love is what you experienced with us. I am pleased that you had such a great experience and that you received great service from Andy and that Flo made you feel welcome. I visit almost every table every night, balance working in the kitchen, the bar supporting my front of house team and tending to my guests- this can be intense sometimes. Sitting with my guests is my favourite part of the enjoyment of doing what I do, and welcoming guests into my home(spun) is at the top of my list. Iâm really sorry that I didnât sit with you. Next time you come I would love to join you, but only if you have a tequila with me

Had an enjoyable lunch with the great service of Leticia and owner Olivier. Leticiaâs friendliness coupled with Olivierâs attentiveness to details really made our lunch taste even better. We ordered the Duo of Tuna, Brandy Bisque Soup, Prawn Risotto and Spicy seafood spaghetti. Everything was delicious but my wife and I were exceptionally blown away by the Duo of Tuna! It was so amazing and concluded that no other restaurant will be able to do this. A must try if you ever visit them! Will definitely return to this restaurant if I ever get to visit Capetown again!è¿éçæå¡å¾å¥½ãä¸è¥¿ä¹ççå¾å¥½å! ææºä¼ä¸å®è¦å°è¯!

Restaurants and food.
Visited for Saturday lunch. Although the restaurant only had about 5 tables, several waiters and a âhostessâ, service was glacial. Our starter plates and empty glasses remained on the table for 20 minutes before being cleared. We then ordered some wine which after 10 mins still had not arrived after which point we left. We could see the âhostessâ had been made aware of this but seemingly could care less. As for the food, the risotto was completely overcoooked into a mush. Awful.

Jump equals "spring" in Afrikaans.I decided to spoil my wife on Valentine's Day 2019. What better place to be than Springfontein Eats!Very, very special Personel. When the Personel in the kitchen starts carrying plates to the table you know that they buy into the term you hear so often when complimenting them "it is the Team!"There is no way that I can do justice to the 5 course tasting menu we had. To this was added a watermelon soup and very tasty snacks they served with the Bubbly. Two further apperatifs of yellowtail , finely cut eggs and cucumber and a delicious beetroot salad followed. Then they a prawndish that was out of this world. The fillet steak was presented very professionally. A little bit cooked to well. To follow ...two deserts followed by delicious soft cheese from the Overberg region.Probably one of the best foodexperiences I have had in my life. The wine pairing was good. The wooded Chenin outstanding. The blended red wine of 2011 was a bit sweet. A bold choice as it is on its way to port in not too many years from now.Springfontein Eats was rated as one of the Top 30 restaurants in SA in 2018 and I can understand why after our experience on 14 February. Jurgen Schneider certainly knows his trade and I am not surprised that he rated as a Michelin Chef in Europe for 18 consecutive years.Be sure to visit. Thank you so much TEAM!
