I have to agree with the previous visitors, who complained about bad service. We went to the restaurant, and a sign said that we had to wait for a waiter, to be seated. That is normal for a restaurant. We waited a couple of minutes before a blond girl came and asked if we wanted to eat. This is also normal, and expected. I should mention that the restaurant was about half full. The waitress went to the counter, to check availability. But, before she did anything with that, she started to serve another guest, who had come to pick up some food. This took quite some time, and it looked like she had forgotten about us, who stood at the entrance. We stood there, for 10 minutes, and was about to leave, because of the apparantly no interest in us. And just as we were leaving, another waitress came and said they had no available tables. If this is representative behavior of the staff, I would tell everybody to stay away from the restaurant. There are plenty of good places to eat in Tromsø, where you can expect both good service and food.Hello Hammerfest,We want to remind you that we are a relatively small restaurant with limited seating that has a significant amount of reservations on most days of the week. Half-full restaurant, therefore, means that the other half is reserved for the upcoming guest within 1 hour to 1,5 hours. Despite this fact, it´s our mistake for not being able to tell you right away as you ask.The reason is that the responsibility of table-availability is given to only one person per shift, to keep a well-organized table overview. The person responsible for the table-management was busy with a sitting guest at that time and could not answer the table availability right away. So the first waiter you talked with helped a guest at the counter while waiting for the responsible person to check availability. We still wish to apologize for the inconvenience caused.Best regards,Suvi manager

Sitting here and trying to describe this place is actually not that easy, its more a sight to behold. It is a mashup of cozy, fancy and rustic feeling, with sweet jazz and blues on the speakers. restaurant Gastro pub by day, lounge bar and occasional live

We absolutely loved the food at this slightly eclectic pub. It is the perfect mix of international and local fare (reindeer shepherd's pie, for example). As mentioned by other reviewers, the atmosphere is also great – finding a nice balance between Tromsø residents and visitors. Kids are also welcome.Tip: On our second visit it was "Taco Tuesday" which is great value in an otherwise very expensive city.

Great quality and beautiful service, nice fit out. Complex flavours from a relatively small menu.We chose samosas. An open chicken sandwich (which had great Moroccan spice flavours) and a lamb burger w tzatziki / mint dressing. I loved the wine flight option to try their Italian, French and Spanish wines. Also in an excellent suburban bust to the airport of for sightseeing.Thank you for your review. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed both the service and food as well as our wine flight option.

Ordered 2 white rice, prawn Tom yum soup and king crab with Singapore chilli sauce for dinner. I’m disappointed to say the least. It wasn’t up to my expectation. Tom yum soup was okay. But the king crab dish was a major let down. Crab legs wasn’t fresh. It was dry and only 3/4 of flesh. Compliment to the waiter though for being courteous and polite.

Northern Lights Kebab is a family-run food truck that has been serving kebabs in pita with a nordic twist for over twenty years. Mild or flaming hot, there is a scale from 1 - 10 to choose from.

There are multiple things that go on to make a food joint hit. Taste and quality of food is paramount followed by Ambiance and Service (may not be in that order). If you are visiting here do not have expectations and you won’t be disappointed. The kebabs are super tasty for sue but you would be a little disappointed at the overall décor and ambiance which is not eye-catchy or flashy. It’s basic and simple. So if it is the quality and taste of the kebabs that matters to you be my guest and you won’t be disappointed at all.
