We ordered the Tomahawk Steak Meal for 2 at around NT2000 and it was a great choice. The salad came with 4 small abalone and was delicious, the fried fish, chicken, and fries were excellent, the steak was cooked nicely and was of adequate quality, and the clam pasta was a lovely finish to a filling and fun meal.

Le Palais was definitely the best Chinese I ever had so far. The 28 days old roasted baby duck was an ala carte order-3 days in advanced. Lightly marinated with chinese herb- super crunchy outside yet the meat is extremely tender. The rack and the left over meat can be done in 3 ways- boiled with sour soup, cooked with porridge or stir fried with salt and pepper. The tasting menu in another hand came with some surprise and some dishes was kinda let down. Personally I like the fish maw soup the most follow by wok fried noodle- nicely done without any oil. The abalone and the asparagus with crab meat was not memorable- not bad but just far from my expectation from a 3 stars Michelin restaurant. The service was flawless once I stepped out from the lift, being guided by the hostess all the way to the washroom before proceed to a semi-private 4 seaters dining area. Service staff were also well-trained in the description and taste profiles of every item in the menu, and introduced the dishes in the most poetic and soothing way. While it is said that Michelin inspectors judge based on just the taste alone, I truly believe part of the reason why Le Palais works is due to its opulent décor. The ambience is so remarkable- with the best decorative material being applied and some very pretty cultural/traditional vintage pieces being displayed. The ambience is a bit dark and dim but in a good way-the central of each dining table stand out as a showcase.I am a typical Chinese uncle and I am so in love with Chinese food as I grow older and wiser. However, this was my very first attempt dining at 3 starred Chinese’. Will I come back- oh definitely YES. For the sake of the ROASTED BABY DUCK, or perhaps I will try the roasted pork next trip...as well as the DIM SUM.Overall: 8.5/10.Dear huanyinchan,Thank you very much for visiting Palais de Chine and share your pleasant dining experience with us. We are delighted to read that you truly liked and enjoyed the experience in Le Palais and we look forward to welcoming you back again in the near future soon. Best regards.Licinio Garavaglia General Manager

This is not one of the better Japanese restaurants in Taipei (of which there are many). It is, however, an expensive one. The chairs are also incredibly uncomfortable, much too low for the tables. The noise made conversation very difficult. If you must eat here, the sushi is probably the best thing to order. The salads are not very good (I ordered seafood salad, but there was almost none in the salad). The pseudo-Mexican avocado salad was full of mayonnaise and not good at all. The worst: the mushroom noodles. The service was especially terrible. One member of our group wanted her own order of noodles, ordered from the start. The noodles, which can't take more than five minutes to make, arrived 15 minutes after the group had finished all the other dishes. There were no apologies from the waitstaff.DON'T believe the positive reviews. This is simply bad food and in Taipei there are SO many good restaurants. This simply should not happen. We still had a great time due to the company of a dear friend.Dear Sir, Thank you for your feedback for your visiting. APLUS DININS SAKE BAR has been in business for more than 15 years as one of the popular Japanese fusion food in Taipei City and we take each of our customer feedback seriously. ï¼·e are sorry to hear that our dishes does not suit your taste. However, we believe there is some misunderstanding for your expectation that we have make it clear on our site and name that our restaurant is not position as a fine dining restaurant but a dining bar, therefore our dining ambience maybe lively at the same time. And sorry for letting your friend waiting for her noodle dish, in Japanese dining bar we always have the noodle/hotpot or rice dishes come at last. We would be more than happy to have the dishes come early if any of our guests have let us know while ordering or else we will have it come as our routine. Sincerely yours Aplus Dining Sake Bar

I reserved a table in advance to visit with my friends. They have a Korean/English menu so it wasn't hard to choose plates. We ordered a whole fried fish(도미조림), fried tofu, pork dish, fried vegetable & meat, bread and beer.. All we got was tasty!!!! This place is worthy to visit. JMT !!!
