We had lunch here on a weekday afternoon. The four of us each chose a different entree; they were all very good, and fairly typical fare in a western-style Japanese restaurant. Everything was fresh and nicely prepared. What sets it off, though, is the soup, salad, bread, and beverage bar that comes with the meal. The salad produce was very good, with several dressing choices, the bread tasted like it was just out of the oven, and there was a good selection of non-carbonated beverages. Service was friendly and pleasant, and the dining room is quite attractive, overlooking the lake.

Visited this place in a group of 10 for lunch. We were so excited right agree we stepped into the traditional wooded building. This place has dual hats. One is the direct miso factory shop and the other is miso restaurant serving dishes cooked with its miso. We expected so much for very high quality of miso and great experience. We ordered a set called Matutaka Gozen comes in 1,500-JPY. The set came in lovely bamboo basket and looked very nice. In the basket, a big bowl of miso soup was located and we understood it represents what this restaurant stands for. As we had the soup, it really did not come to us.. there was no great excitement or experience having factory-direct miso... This trend went to all over the dishes in the basket. They were all normal. ok, everywhere else kind of foods... we looked our faces each other and confirmed that al of were a hit disappointed by the quality of their food....But, again, this restaurant stands in a great location near to the castle and it’s atmosphere is something very special. So, you should not be disappointed with this in mind. I think our expectation were simple too high.素晴らしい外観の作りで自前の味噌工場がすぐ裏手に控えた工場直売的な意味合いも兼ねたレストランになっています。雰囲気は最高ですので、お味噌を使った料理もさぞかし素晴らしいのでは、と期待していましたがその点については残念ながら、肩透かしでした。丸高御膳といく1500円のランチをいただきましたが、肝心のお味噌を使った料理やら、お味噌汁も期待ハズレで、これならこんなところまで来なくてもどこでも食べれるな、、となってしまいました。立地もいいし、雰囲気もいいので、それだけで訪れる価値はあるかと思います。
