Phitsanulok (Thai: พิษณุโลก, pronounced [pʰít.sā.nú.lôːk], also locally known as Pilok) is an important, historic city in lower northern Thailand and is the capital of Phitsanulok Province, which stretches all the way to the Laotian border. Phitsanulok is one of the oldest cities in Thailand, founded over 600 years ago. It is best known as the birthplace of King Naresuan, who freed the country from Burmese domination in the late 16th century, and that of his brother and successor King Ekathosarot (Sanphet III). As the crossroad between the northern and central regions of the country, it has long been important both for political and strategic reasons, and was fought over many times in centuries past. Phitsanulok was the capital of Thailand for 25 years during the reign of King Boromma Trailokanat of Ayutthaya. On the banks of the Nan River, the city was originally a small Khmer outpost known as Song Kwae, before the Khwae Noi River changed its course in the 11th century CE. Phitsanulok was also a provincial center of the Angkorian Empire during the Angkorian period. Phitsanulok is home to Naresuan University and Pibulsongkram Rajabhat University, as well as to a major Royal Thai Army base.

They have two locations. This is for the one located in the center of town at the Lithai guesthouse. Pleaseant, very clean comfortable and air conditioned. A nice break from street food. They serve both Thai and some western dishes. There is very little western food available here in Phitsanulok, The western food is tasty, albeit not totaly authentic. The Thai dishes are quite good. English menu. Staff speaks very little English but point at the menu and you'll be OK. Service can be a bit slow. They also have a bakery and everything looks good. They make a unique but tasty slider (look for cheeseburger on the menu). Prices are quite reasonable. Part of the Lithai guesthouse which is a good cheap place to stay.

The fried whole fish with deep fried shredded ginger and basil leaves is fantastic. The garlic lobster bake and the boiled lobster with a great fried rice is excellent. They have many exotic frozen fruit beverages with or without alcohol. Lovely outside dining surrounded by water or an attractive inside with A/C.Any way you slice it Fin is a great dining experience.
Top 3 European food in Phitsanulok, Phitsanulok Province, Thailand
Located in the center of Phitsanulok. Glass House Restaurant with great atmosphere serving modern and classic thai cuisine.
I really enjoyed the lunch I eat here, with my Thai hosts. We needed to be pretty quick, and the dishes arrived very quickly, and they were of excellent standard - Thai/Asian fusion, certainly, but much better than 'fast food'! Tasty, crispy when necessary, and interesting. The restaurant is modern, airy, and set back from the road in pleasant surroundings. All-in-all, a very good experience, and much recommended.
