Nice French bistro just off Rue Sherbrooke. Great quality and innovative dishes. Good service, but the space is small. BYOB. Excellent escargot in risotto. Wonderful fresh bread. Duck breast was well cooked and seasoned. Received horse on the tasting menu. Nicely cooked and different. Palate cleansers were loaded with brandy. Butternut squash soup was very good on a cold Montreal night.

An innovative menu based on traditional dishes. We started with the rice balls, foigras and Beet Salad. All well prepares and wonderful. Entrees of Boulibase and Duck confeit were very nicely executed rich and delicious. Desert was an lovely vanilla Creme Brulee. Over all the dining experience was really good and we felt it to be a good value.

Jellyfish is a large, bustling downtown restaurant with a lively atmosphere. The décor is modern, but the extensive glass, ultra-high ceilings and bar made it noisy and not the place for quiet conversation. The menu is very inventive, and the dishes can be eaten individually or shared tapas-style. We particularly enjoyed sharing various crudos, the heirloom tomatoes carpaccio and the grilled halibut. The wine list was extensive and eclectic. The specialty cocktails were inventive and enjoyable. Overall, it was definitely a fun experience that we would repeat if we return to Montreal.

We discovered this restaurant a little by chance and chance does things well! We loved it: the charming welcome, the décor, the quality of the dishes, everything was impeccable. We do not drink alcohol and the owner offered us his kombucha which was delicious! My spouse had the lobster roll as a starter (wow) and I had the beet salad that was served with seasoned bocconcini, a delight! The boucané chicken is perfectly cooked and the French fries are the best I had eaten for a long time. The blood sausage was very good, although I prefer the Petit Flore on Fleury, which is spicier. The desserts are simply sublime! The iced nougat and chocolate and hazelnut dessert were refined and the balance of flavours was perfect. I highly recommend this restaurant and we'll probably go back soon enough, if only to get some take-out chicken!

You would never guess how sophisticated is the food offered by this restaurant from outside. This was by far our best meal in Canada. Their tasting menu is sublime. We had problems with the service provided by the hotel where we stayed in Montreal and such bad experiences may give you the wrong impression about the city as a whole. So having had the wonderful service this restaurant's staff provided to us was a bliss and Montreal's redemption in our eyes.
