Reviews on Fusion food in Island of Hawaii, Hawaii, United States. Life on the Big Island is a little bit slower… and locals like it that way. The natural beauty and ecological features of the island are a draw for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. Test your chutzpah at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, home to the longest volcanic eruption in recorded history, or climb to the indescribably beautiful summit of Mauna Kea. At the end of the day, there’s nothing more refreshing than a quivering plate of fresh poke, followed by a fruity shave ice.

We feature a frequently changing international menu with a pacific emphasis and focus on locally sourced ingredients.
Husband and I had been dying to eat here. Last year, Hurricane Lane kept us away. Our server, Emily and her team set the bar for our entire anniversary vacation. We ordered every seafood item on the menu and each was more ono than the one before. The ahi was fresh and silky and amazing. We finished with lilikoi pie and the absolute best espresso ever brewed. We usually donât repeat restaurants, no matter how fantastic, but weâre going to make an exception for this one.

We had good food here, but the absolute highlight was the PÄhoa lava museum next door. It is run by local volunteers who have been displaced or affected by the 2018 eruption. Because it is run by volunteers it doesnât have set opening hours but the curator happens to run the local art gallery as well and overheard us talking and opened it up foe us and another couple eating at the next table. The 30-45 minutes we spent there were the most informative Iâve ever had at a museum because they were personal accounts by people affected not just during the eruption but also the ongoing issues they have today. Mother Nature always wins in the end:)

Feed your soul nightly with live music and casual dining under the stars at Blue Dragon Tavern & Cosmic Musiquarium.
We have enjoyed this place a couple of times while vacationing in Hawaii. It is a bit of a drive from the hotel district, but it's worth it. No fancy upscale stuffiness here. No parade of fashion. Just tasty menu options, creative drinks or just the basics. PLUS ...if you pick the right night, some excellent music and dancing if you are in the mood. Dress up or dress down, the Blue Dragon people are warm and welcoming.

Tina' cooks your meal to order, using wonderful but not overdone spices, and the freshest ingredients from the farm, sea and market. Everything is delicious. Portions are large. You may want to split a meal if you aren't that hungry. the only downside? Better have the time to wait for thaat custom cooked meal. Tina's is very popular and there;s only room for one chef in the kitchen, so you'll have to wait y our turn. but if you have the time, relax andf wait for a mouth watering and wonderful meal. I especially love her tom ka soup! Lunch only, except for special occasions.
