We have been fortunate to dine in Michelin-starred restaurants and in the States, even have James Beard Award nominated chefs prepare private dinners for us (if you are not familiar with them, the James Beard Award is the restaurant industry's equivalent of an Oscar Award in the movies). Our evening at Kabanova was easily as memorable as any of those meals and was possibly the culinary highlight of our trip! Each course was not only delicious, but also as imaginative as anything we've enjoyed. Add to that a white Rioja from Bodegas Abel Mendoza that the staff recommended and was so delicious we tracked down four bottles to bring back to the States and you can understand why we loved the evening so much. I'll admit that the notion of an all-woman run restaurant in Spain was a neat curiosity that drew me to make a reservation but it truly comes down to the fact that if you are a dining aficionado, you MUST dine here when visiting Rioja.Hi WineTraveller, many thanks for your kind opinion! New Resturant recently opened in logroño. Contemporary & modern Spanish cuisine of great quality. & outstanding price/quality relationship. Good service and reasonable wine list with nice prices. Was our first time and were positively surprised. Chef Owner is young but with a real gift.Will for sure come back !!!!

Stood in the bar for a couple og hours and had a good time eating and drinking my way through the selection of tapas and wine by the glass. You can order in the bar and carry the tapas and wine back to the table yourself, but I enjoyed the hectic atmosphere in the bar.One young waiter had a good level of english and were very serviceminded and helpful.The tapas generally are 2,70 ⬠a piece (Tuna Tataki was 3 ⬠and very good). Solomillo was also very good.All wines are by the glass and at the price range from approximately 2 ⬠to 7 â¬. For me - being the "hard to please" wine nerd that I am, only two wines were at the level that I like:2011 Roda 1 Reserva for 7,20 ⬠- a polished traditional Rioja entering maturity with fruit and well integrated tannins and the 2015 Pucheros de Paco Garcia for 5,20 ⬠- modernist Rioja with far less oak and focus on the clean fruity style. The wines are like night and day but they are both very well produced wines that represent the two styles of Rioja.Before I left the owner opened a bottle of 2003 Reserva from Marques de Murrieta to let me have a taste. Still very much drinkable with a long finish. I would come again...

Taberna de Baco was our final stop with our friends who live in Logroño. I was not very hungry and not a big fan of "orejas". La Taberna de Baco made me a believer that "orejas" can be delicious. Our waiter Pedro took great pride in explaining the many fabulous tapas offered. It was a delight to be served by someone who loves their job and the art of beautiful food.
