French, italian as well as delicious local traditional swiss food. Everything is made on the spot from fresh, local ingredients.
Very cosy traditional Swiss restaurant in Villars village. Generally the food was excellent and the service was good. Two of our group had Raclette. Here it's done the old fashioned way - cheese melted over a real wood fire - and you'll have cheese with a wonderful smoky flavour as a result. They will need two people minimum to be having Raclette, to set up and light the wood fire (which is fair enough).Highly recommended!

As part of Cookie's organic growth, a need for an alternative eating space in the centre of Villars emerged. The concept of a Deli that serves freshly baked goods along with nutritiously rich natural juices seemed very obvious to the Cookie crew. The Deli
This was our final lunch of our Swiss walking holiday and we really enjoyed our burgers. All the parts were good - the burger, relish, bun and cheese. The chips could have been cooked a little less but were still tasty. Hubby liked his cookie better than I did.

The Restaurant is where the Cookie story began. December 2008 started off with the opening of a restaurant in Gryon, on your way to Alpe des Chaux and Solalex, that was trying something different to what was done at the time in the Swiss Alps. Cookie Rest
After the accidental death of the previous dynamic owner Dave from Australia the Cookie restaurants story continues now with Max, originally from New York, and his chef Frederic. Judging our first dinner it looks quite promising. Quite interesting menu from which we chose as starters a curry crab and a lentil salad. The curry crab with pasta was spicey and delicious. It would even make a great main dish if a slightly bigger portion. The lentil salad was equally good. Ostrich steak as main dish. A bit too red whilst I ordered medium, the meat was good. Very good and ample sauce. As well as a side of mousseline with mushrooms. The wine list is interesting and reasonably priced. As are the dishes. Good coffee. The restaurant is still the same and cosy as before. Service is very friendly and efficient. Great food and ambiance.
