We stayed in a his hotel and a had a fantastic meal in the intimate dining room next to bar. Menu now presented differently to photos here but content same, and seems to have changed name. As noted by others butter with bread ya excellent. Local pickled fish starter was fresh and tasty. Steak and fish mains had us full and happy with no space for desert. Highly recommended.

I enjoyed grabbing a mocha to go and enjoyed the sunshine outside while I walked around town. Lots of character inside, with cute little knickknacks and souvenirs.

We started with a reservation for Wednesday May 25 at 7pm which was confirmed. On the day of the reservation, we called to see if they opened earlier. We were told they had been trying to reach us by phone, but never left any message: they were closed that night. So we made a new reservation for Friday May 27, at 6.30 pm, which we were told was their opening time.We arrived at the restaurant at 6.25pm on the 27th. We asked where the Brasserie was, the first bar person said it was closed. We stated we had a reservation for 6.30 pm, another more senior bar person came, said it only opened at 7pm. He took us to a table in a very stuffy room (all tables were set, one large one for a group) and said he would check if they opened at 6.30. Came back and said that no, 7 was the earliest. We debated whether to stay, asked to see the menu: it was a very short fixed menu and a four-line a-la-carte list. Outside, on the bulletin board where they show menus, they have a very extensive a-la-carte list for Jack's Brasserie, which is why we had made our reservation. We need an a-la-carte menu as we have dietary restrictions. They blamed the booking errors on the receptionist who took the reservation and to the fact that this was the season's opening day! If this was a brand new hotel and restaurant on their first day of service, we might accept this lame excuse. But this is supposed to be THE Hotel and Restaurant in Wengen.I hope that Michelin or Gault-Millau people make a point to visit this place incognito on their season opening day!!!Their website has been completely wrong about menus, opening days too.The lobby and the location of Jack's Brasserie was musty and stuffy and airless even on a warm day.The personnel did not even have the courtesy to offer us a welcome free drink for all our troubles and their incompetence!!!

My wife and I took the train up from Lauterbrunnen and walked the short distance up to Chez Meyers. We had a wonderful multi-course meal, with nice little treats between each course. The waiter was attentive without being intrusive and was very helpful. We also had an opportunity to speak with the owner and learned some history of the hotel and the restaurant. This was a great dinner and we will return the next time we visit the splendors of the Lauterbrunnen valley. It is a pleasure to have such a reportThank youGuido meyer
