We went here for a family meal together. We ate from the early bird menu, the market menu and the a la carte menu. Food was sublime and the fish dish in the early bird menu every bit as good as the lobster dish from the a la carte menu. Lobster was perfectly cooked and the sauce so good a really superb dish and a compliment to the chef that the fish of the day from the early bird menu was equally good which speaks volumes for kitchen especially when the owner chef was not in the kitchen that night. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their starters and mains and dessert was every bit as good as the mains. Service was excellent and advice on wines honest and very helpful. A fantastic family meal from a superb restaurant that didn't break the bank. We'll be back.

I will admit that outside it does look a bit like a French restaurant. Inside it still looks a bit like a French restaurant. The food, however, did not remind me of a French restaurant at all. The website which enticed me to visit spoke eloquently of Lobster and of rib eye steak etc. I saw none on the menu though and if it was up on a board somewhere the staff never showed me. The "fish" the night I went was either salmon or hake ! Not exactly the enticing piscatorial gastronomy normally associated with French cuisine.I found service was somewhat ill informed and somewhat "unsighted" ! - so ensure you sit where you can be clearly seen since attracting their attention, whether for service or the bill, can be a challenge . A question about the nature of the Risotto starter on the menu was answered that it was "a sort of pasta" - which is odd, because I could have sworn it is supposed to be made of Arborio rice ! Anyway, the risotto was served in a nice big dish BUT as a very small portion which was completely buried beneath a bland screen of green salad. Unappetising . Another starter, snails, comprised six snails served with a discernible paucity of the very garlic butter that usually makes that dish so gallic. The rustic bread accompanying my snails was about as rustic as my car's engine management system..My Cassoulet was supposed to be French ? Well, it consisted of a very small duck leg (sorry, "confit of duck"!), a one inch cube of pork belly (one third of which was fat !) and half a sausage (which certainly did not remind me of any of the French sausages I had when I was living there) and such a heap of butter beans that if I had only thought to bring mortar with me I could have built a sturdy little wall. For â¬22 it was a poor dish and a very bad choice on my part. Maybe its been a long season. Maybe the chef(s) / proprietor(s) are a tad jaded. There were French people eating when we were there, so my hope is that this place can make a comeback, but it will take more effort, more determination and much greater attention to detail than I witnessed.Hello Paddy, Everyone understood that your comment seems to be written only to harm and does not reflect the reality of your meal. You did not mention that your wife chose the early bird at â¬18.00 for two courses and could not therefore choose the entrecote in this menu while it is well a la carte, the lobster is according to our fresh arrivals and your total addition for an amount of â¬54.00Rather than a long answer I prefer to attach the opinion of two of our customers, you can check them on our websiteAnna 19/09/2019 *******Delicious food for reasonable price. Booked for family Sunday lunch. We were made to feel quite unwelcome by one member of staff in particular. I believe she could have been the manager. The food was basic and over cooked. Very little vegetables. Broccoli was yellowish in colour. We wonât be returning.
