Tucked away in the vineyard is L'Auberge La Gaillotière. The restaurant has inside and outside seating. Upon arrival we noticed that we were not alone to come and have dinner here. It is a wonderful spot because you are surrounded by vineyards. The atmosphere of the place is nice and relaxed. The hosts are very friendly and welcoming. They serve honest, homemade food. You can chose a menu formula according to your degree of hunger: entrée or dessert + plat for 20 euro, entrée + plat + dessert for 24 euro and entrée + plat + fromage + dessert for 27,5 euro. Coffee is always included. This is a really good deal considering the fact that the servings are not small at all. They also offer a good selection of correctly priced wines. Surely worth a recommendation!

Excellent restaurant, French cuisine, fresh fish, beautifully presented, excellent and friendly service. Worth searching out if you are in Nantes. Open lunch times for business customers and Friday and Saturday evenings. Booking necessary. We live near and take friends and family whenever possible.

It is said that Alexander Dumas, in the Nantes region came to an adulterous dalliance on the edge of the Sevre, was struck by inspiration in a corner of a restaurant in Vertou (Loire Atlantique), and would have written the first sentences of a new novel "

We visited L'ecluse this evening and had a main course and glass of wine each. Total cost â¬43 approx. Not our first visit - we visited last year also. We left very satisfied. My wife had brochette of lamb with potatoes, veg etc while I had duck in orange sauce. Both dishes were exquisite. Perfectly cooked and presented. Friendly staff. Lovely location facing on to the river.Menu items are priced on the high side but not too bad. The prices asked for the local Mucadet wines (one at â¬27) and indeed other Loire Valley wines are, however, way over the top. 'Rip off' would be a kind description. Do yourself a favour and spend your hard earned â¬27 on 6 bottles of very nice Muscadet in one of the fine vineyards around Vertue.

Great location on the river. The decor is trendy and modern. A quick lunch turned into an excellent experience of tastes and wines. A highlight was the salmon soup. The veal was a it tough but looking at other dishes this was the exception.

As you approach the Manoir, you know it's going to be special. The sun came out for my visit to this extraordinarily beautiful place. My lunch consisted of my three chosen courses with two extras, and comprised the best French food I have ever tasted, and one of the very best dining experiences of my life. I have become wary of French cuisine to be honest - it is far too often over priced, lazy, overly rich, pretentious with pompous service. The Manoir is proof that French cooking is not only at the foundation of great cuisine everywhere in the West, but at its best really is the best there is.Service was faultless, and very accommodating of my non-existant French. I must learn. What more can I say - perfection.

BASILIC & CO offers pizzas made from local products: quality certified ingredients (Ossau Iraty AOP, Bleu du Vercors AOP, ravioles du Royans Label Rouge ...), and cooked on the spot. More than 28 pizzas to choose from, 100% homemade from a fresh paste spr
Called in here after visiting the chateau, on a wet day. Welcome atmosphere, friendly staff and 2 x 26cm freshly made pizzas, which were delicious. These were large but you can get a 32cm as well. I had a green side salad to go with it and a soft drink, although alcohol was available. Fast service, considering each pizza is freshly made. Would definitely go here again.
