Reviews on French food in Versailles, Ile-de-France, France. This former unofficial capital of France sits just 10 miles from Paris and is easily reachable by train. Even though the Chateau de Versailles has been known as the epitome of indulgent luxury for centuries, seeing it in person is a jaw-dropping experience. The chateau's magnificent gardens are free, but it's worth shelling out for a day ticket to see the interior—although it does make going back to even a fancy hotel seem rather humdrum.

Delight in a masterful feast for the senses at our Michelin-starred restaurant. Exquisite French cuisine by chef Frederic Larquemin is served against the backdrop of the park of the Chateau de Versailles.
This restaurant was over the top. From the staff of waiters to the exquisitely presented food. No rush, but rather a true dining experience.... served slow and graceful. The specialty foods between courses were delicious assorted sorbets in unusual flavors, that truly cleansed your palate, to prepare you for the next scrumptious morsels. Dear Guest,Thank you for your visit and thank you for your nice comments about your meal.We are really pleased that you had a "true dining experience" and that you found our restaurant "over the top".Hoping that we shall have the chance to serve you again in the near future.Sincerely,

If anyone has difficulty, as I have done, in finding good food at a reasonably price in Versailles, then try La Perle de Saint-Louis. This charming and discrete little restaurant, overlooking one of the city's ancient squares, specialises in fish. The chef not only knows how to cook - he also knows how to present his very generous dishes. La Perle also offers a wine list that is weighted towards the food that it serves. Standards are high, and the grilled turbot really is as good as it looks. Another admirable element is the welcoming and attentive manner of the ladies who serve the tables. I have been there more than once, and I will definitely be eating there again.

Last night in Versailles and what a perfect way to finish. Had read several reviews of this restaurant and they are right, this is another must visit!! Yes limited menu on the night with 4 starters, 2 mains and 4 desserts but all beautifully prepared and presented by this fantastic couple who run this establishment on their own. I had the swordfish and my wife the chicken dish on the night and would quite happily have swapped with her and also had the famous Brownie dessert. Thanks folks!! Dear Andrew B,Thank you very much for your review. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your dinner in our restaurant and we hope to welcome you again, nxt time you will come in France.Kind regards,Stéphanie & Stéphane

So this was a new expérience.THe place is very cosy and the welcome very warm. Only 4 tables and 10 peoples tonight however they do have a bigger room upstair.Lot of space around the table to allow the actors to move around. You have the choice of various menu 45⬠(meat,fish, vegetarian) all at the same price. You can choose to pair wine (45â¬) with the menu or go for the wine list. The service and the actors was very nice.A good atmosphere. THe chief came at the end of the meal to inquire how everything was. Good point. We mention that 3 tiny scallops was maybe a bit short..she take good note of it.We feel confortable there like you're home and overall enjoy an entertaining evening only a short step from the castle.

Spoke english, very warm friendly and accommodating, most others were local- but we were not made to feel like an unwelcomed tourist. Portions were large - American style but with French attention to quality and detail. I loved this night - we could have stayed there forever but had an engagement at Versailles for an evening concert. WELL DONE MERCI!!!!!

Lovely Friday night, English speaking kind staff. I made reservations through the phone. Nice music inside, better go there as a group and taste many dishes as much as you can. Spend the whole night. Delicious Brie with truffles on the cheese platter. We haven't tried the cheeseburger and heard afterwards its quite famous. So give it a try!

This restaurant is unpretentious but the quality of the food and wines is superb. The fresh dishes of the day were of a high standard and the wine suggestion with each course were great. The owner/front of house was extremely knowledgeable about the wines and all the staff were friendly and approachable. Well done!

Three and a half years ago my wife and I had the great fortune of, completely by chance, discovering a newly opened restaurant on the edge of the old town of Versailles. We knew from the off we'd found something quite special and over the last three years its been a delight to watch a story develop of one of France's great culinary talents not just find his feet, but thrieve, gaining a michelin star in his first year and opening a sister bistro a year after that. Since our fitst visit we have since dined at either Table du 11, or the sister Bistro du 11 maybe a dozen times and on every occasion, we never fail to be impressed. Having been fortunate enough to have dined at 40+ Michelin one or two star establishments, very few can hold a candle to Table du 11. It is, in terms of both service and cuisine, head and shoulders above any other one star restaurant we have dined at and indeed superior to maybe half of the two star restaurants we have frequented. To deliver such consistency, whilst also providing no little invention is indeed a rare thing. In essence if you get the chance to dine here youd be a fool not to take it.
