We were treated to a meal at L'Auberge des Seigneurs as a birthday present. It is a traditional restaurant with oak panelling, polished copper pans and a spit roast in front of a roaring fire but not at all stuffy. The staff were delightful and recognised our name when we arrived. It was so refreshing to find a deceptively simple menu with beautifully executed food. We were greeted with an amuse bouche of pea puree and crispy onion. My husband had stuffed courgette flowers as a starter, followed by panfried salmon and quinoa and I ordered veal with french beans and a new potatoes threaded on a rosemary stick. The chocolate bombe was light and hugely decadent. The subtle and inspiring flavouring was fabulous. A large party next to us had a chicken roasted from scratch on the spit and this was pure theatre! I can't recommend this restaurant enough. Civility and excellence rarely found these days.

We treated ourselves to lunch at this lovely restaurant in the beautiful, sleepy (for winter) town of Vence. We both had the Menu Découverte, which at â¬39 each was phenomenal value. We ate mise en bouche, 6 Normandy oysters, sea scallops and artichoke emulsion, chicken supreme with celery risotto and wild sea bass. For dessert we enjoyed tarte tatin and cheese (at no extra cost â other places please note!) Between us we had 3 wines by the glass and for each of them the maître d' brought out the bottle to show us, a nice touch. He also spoke to us only in French, though he knew were speaking English together. We do speak fluent French but so many places feel they should address us in our language so this was a refreshing change. Right at the end, as we were leaving, he proved that his English was fluent so we were doubly grateful!Just before we left the chef himself came out to greet all the diners. We will be back.

I try to change the opening hours of the restaurant but I can not get the evening hours. you do not accept the following times: 19:00 - 21:30 for the following days Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. How should I do it?
In one of the many squares in Vence old town youâll find this lovely restaurant, with space indoors and out and a charming patron, Michel. The menu (in French and English) is ever changing, some written down and other dishes on a board. We had the plat midi, which included starters of a crunchy salad and a huge plate of large prawns, then sea bream and a really tasty boar and venison stew with polenta. A pichet of local wine was great value.Michel originally showed us to the table that would be in the sun the longest and when the sun did disappear from the terrace he even moved our table right next to the entrance to catch the last of the rays over coffee.A bit surprised that the toilet was actually directly off the kitchen but didnât detract from a perfect meal.

We stayed 1 week in this wonderful hotel. The kitchen is Phantastic. We had 4 times dinner in this week. We enjoyed every meal. The chef de cuisine is a man , very nearly at a Michelin star. We are sure, we come back , next year or later. Many thanks for your kind feed-back! We look forward to welcoming you again at the Hôtel restaurant Cantemerle for another stay!

My delightfully served prix fixe menu was pleasantly affordable. After an amuse bouche, I had a luscious pea soup that was beautifully served with crisped slices of baguette, asparagus, and bits of other vegetables. For my main course, I had a wonderfully tender roast guinea hen with whipped potatoes and various other vegetables. And I somehow found room for a very tasty dessert of strawberries with a bit of gelato and macaroon-like bits. Scrumptious!

The waitress that served us was efficient, helpful and friendly. We had three perfectly cooked pave steaks that were very well priced. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and we very much enjoyed our visit and would definitely return. My only criticism was that they were showing American rodeo on television while we were eating, which was not to my taste!
