FIG & OLIVE's Westchester location is an effortless escape for shoppers at the Vernon Hills Shopping Center, and a favorite of local Scarsdale residents. Its airy, light-filled dining room is an accessible space for an elegant meal. This opens to the outs
Met some friends at Fig & Olive for lunch and loved the new spring menu. From the dipping oils to the crostini appetizers and main dishes through to dessert (apple tartâyum!), the menu and the food were outstandingâtrue Mediterranean dishes and flavors that you canât get anywhere else. Will definitely returnâso many other dishes we want to try!

French Onion soup was a great start. Bread was warm and delicious. Main course of stuffed chicken breast was made beautifully, but a little salty. We walked into this restaurant hoping for a warm, cozy and romantic evening. Instead the service was cold and inattentive. After we finished our main course and received more bread after we finished our main course, we decided to leave. Too bad, we were hoping for so much more.

At D'Gabby Fine French Cuisine, crisp white tablecloths and sparkling mirrors set a proper stage for the kitchen's sophisticated French and Italian cuisine. Indeed, each dish here rises to D'Gabby's intimate bistro-style layout with an artful presentation
Well, I wanted to like this place. Westchester doesn't have tons of good French Bistro types of places. Onion soup was pretty good, I'll give them that. But it took a LONG time, as did the main dishes. Like, longer than you would have though, by at least ten or fifteen minutes. On to the mains: I had cassoulet, one of my faves, and it was, let's say, slapdash. It didn't feel like it had simmered and the ingredients therefore didn't mesh, it felt like it was put together right before serving. The beans were too mushy, and it was underspiced. I don't usually add anything, but added pepper, mustard, AND SALT.Other main, Dover Sole Meuniere, was not very good. Did NOT taste like Dover sole, which I've had many times at fine restaurants. Just overall a disappointing meal. Staff was very nice though.
