This is basically a restaurant for workers and is only open at lunchtime and there is a fixed menu - buffet, main meal, wine, cheese, dessert and coffee for 15 euros. The food is ALWAYS excellent and the people are really nice and friendly. They kw their clientele and they know how to cook. This is simply the best restaurant in Thones for a start and I don't know better ones in Annecy and certainly not in La Clusaz. You might consider booking since it is always full of regulars

Wanting to escape the crowds of Annecy my daughter and I sped to the hills and valleys and found this delightful restaurant in Thones. The village itself is charming and not on the tourist trail, well certainly not for Brits and we enjoyed the atmosphere. The menu her is good with vegetarian options and all very reasonably priced at less than 50euro for dinner with drinks. Well worth the trip for both scenery and a nice meal.

We arrived after 21.00 on a Tuesday evening out of season to be welcomed by Rashid . The restaurant was busy w here as most of the restaurants in La Clusaz and Le grand Bornand were closed. I ate a delicious Spinach and salmon lasagne and my husband had steak tartare and crispy delicious frites. A little gazpacho amuse buche was given to us first. All washed down with a good local wine. A very good meal at a reasonable price. The service was excellent . We will be back soon. Thank you Rashid. Sorry to miss Patrick. Flossy and Neil

To start with, it is very remote place, difficult to find even with a satnav. The car needs to be left on the road well below the hotel. Than there is the CLIMB.For the guests staying overnight, the hotel sends a 4-wheel drive, but restaurant guests need to climb. At let me tell you - it is a serious climb! We are all very fit and used to hiking in the mountains, but this was a very long (20 min fast pace), VERY steep climb all the way up to the hotel. About half way up, our 10 years old daughter said that she is not able to make another step...The views up there are beautiful and the place is crowded with friendly dogs and cats (7 or 8), which is great for children. However, we were waiting for 1.5 hours for our order to be taken (the hotel guests were served much quicker) and the food was very poor.We had 2 fish quinelles (no taste of fish at all, although the sauce was good) and for our daughter we took, what the owner ensured was "meat". It turned out that it was cows or pigs stomach, which sorry - is not meat, but offal. It was disgusting and none of us could eat it (I would like to mention here, that I have eaten stomach before and if well prepared it is rather nice - I'm not against offal, but the taste of this particular dish was really horrible). We had only main courses (it was already very late, so we had decided not to take starters, which was very surprising to the owner, who could perhaps consider that we had a child with us and a long way down to get back to our chalet) and a bottle of water (no tap water offered) (and "special" aperitifs - a raspberry swimming in a sparkling wine - don't accept it!) and paid for it 110 euro - not cheap at all!The whole meal took 3 hours - I have a feeling that the owner wanted us to stay overnight - by the time we left it was pitch black. Fortunately we had a small torch with us, so were able to get down the mountain to our car - but it was an experience that I would not recommended, in particular with children! (although I admittedly quite liked it - dark, steep, uneven, scary - not an everyday way to return from a restaurant)I would not recommended this place for any meal. The hotel and the restaurant and the surroundings area are beautiful, so perhaps an overnight stay would have been nice. But the dinner there is not something I would want to repeat!Madame, Monsieur, Bonjour. Cordialement, Philippe CARTERON.

Big restaurant, good food. We eat lunch with 3 children. As we are vegetarian not all the menu was good for us. We took the salad with cheese which was excellent. Prices are very reasonable, service friendly. Thanks a lot for this comment.See you soon and have a nice day

A small but cosy creperie in Thones offers the typical food from French Brittany (Bretagne). The restaurant is decorated in ski style. We would have expected a higher suitable quality of the galettes even though the general appreciation of the cooking of the galettes remains adequate.

We ate dinner here as a family. The boys all had pizza (the child menu has pizzas in the shape of rabbits!) which were delicious. I had Tartiflette which was amazing - a local speciality. Staff were attentive and friendly. The location is perfect, right in the centre of the town. I'd highly recommend this restaurant.

We happened upon this restaurant as it was the only one open on a damp Wednesday in Thones. What a surprise, the surroundings are well finished. Each table was well set with good quality cutlery and glasses.Zoe, was our waitress. A delightful Irish lady. We chose from the â¬7 starter and â¬14 main course menu. The food was tasty, plentiful and again, like the surroundings and staff, well presented. The best meal, restaurant and service during our week in Thones.Thank you.

This lovely stop boasts great local beer and a light lunch made of various cheeses and hams. The couple that run the place are extremely welcome and friendly but the friendliest member of the staff is their dog Gaia who greets you at the door and encourages you to come inside. We plan to visit again when we repeat the walk. Thanks for your comment! It will be a pleasure to see you again.
