Michaela and I opened Bistrot Verite in 2009, after working and travelling around France we loved the Ambiance of the Small, Cosy, Rustic Bistrots that you find tucked away in Provincial towns. With this in mind we have tried to create this in our home to
Visited with husband to celebrate wedding anniversary, absolutely wonderful food, ambience and service throughout the evening. Did not feel rushed at all and can highly recommend the crab and prawn starter which was superb, Stornoway black pudding was perfection! Beautifully cooked lamb and sensational french apple tart to finish. Will return and enjoy again and again.

Cosy restaurant with an outdoor seating area should you wish.My good lady had the lasagne and I ordered the Pasta with meatballs. Peroni is on tap.We were attended to as soon as we sat down and a complimentary basket of lovely crusty Bread with a dish of Butter was brought out to us. Both meals came quickly and were hot and delicious.Eat here same time last year but forgot to put comment on Trip Advisor, sorry guys.Recommended.

We visited here yesterday. We've eaten here many times since it opened and always thoroughly enjoyed our visit as my previous reviews can confirm. Sadly things appear to be on the decline. The service was friendly enough but we waited a very long time for our food, in fact they brought us another basket of bread (which is delicious) between our starters and mains as I think they had realised how long we had been waiting for our food to arrive. When it did eventually arrive, like the adjoining table who did not get a sauce they had ordered, they got our order wrong as well. All three of us ordered Veg from the choice of sides available plus a portion of Fries. They brought two veg and fries so when I pointed this out to them they went to get another veg which appeared several minutes later while my food was going cold. The veg in fairness was lovely, good selection including carrots, courgette, broccoli and roast potatoes and nice and hot as it had been freshly cooked. The food was just ok I'm afraid. My wifes fish tasted heavily of garlic although this was not mentioned on the menu. We are aware that many of the dishes will include garlic but unless stated on the menu this should not be the main taste which this was. I had the Medallions of Pork, which I usually have when I visit. Again this dish was not up to the standard of previous visits. The meat was very fatty which it never has been before and should not be if pork fillet is being used. The sauce was ok, the sausage has been replaced with a very spicy slice of ham and the apple chunks were just that. Having waited nearly forty minutes for our food to arrive we were disappointed to say the least. We decided to skip desserts, as we didn't know what sort of a wait we could be in for, and went elsewhere for coffee and cake. Its a real shame if corners are being cut. The place itself is lovely, nicely decorated and the waiting on staff very pleasant. The menu offers very good value for money but I'm afraid we shall be giving it a miss for a while. Must admit I'm surprised to see this place sitting as low down on the list of Southport restaurants but my latest visit would perhaps explain the reasonBonjour!I'm very saddened to read about your most recent dining experience, our team work very hard to ensure that each and every guest has a fantastic experience every time, and clearly we let you down.I would really appreciate it if you could contact us at [email protected] look forward to hearing from you.
