we have frequently eaten here, the dining room is spacious, the waiting staff are friendly but only speak french, the food is good basic french cuisine. The starters are a bit of a throw back to the seventies, as are the deserts but the main course is usually good, especially if you pick the stew, prices are very reasonable as are drinks.

Delightful location and wonderful bedrooms coupled with superb food at very reasonable prices makes this a must stop venue when passing to or from the channel ports. Hard working staff and a very friendly owner/chef who fully deserves his Bib Gourmand.

The restaurant is smart and tastefully presented, and the service was brisk. But if you do not eat meat it is a disaster. There was nothing on the menu that was suitable apart from from Tartine Gourmande au Maroille, which was offered only a starter. I ordered as my main course, only to find that it came with ham under the Maroille. I ordered another without ham but the second one they brought me also contained it. Poor service! I gave up. And in fact the Tartine Gourmande was actually a piece of toasted sliced bread with melted cheese on it and a lettuce leaf. I can quite believe that if you want steak and chips you could thoroughly enjoy this place, but I came away very disappointed.

We ate here twice with friends. Once having an excellent set lunch - the chicken was cooked perfectly and the salad very tasty. The evening meal was also very good and the service provided by the owner was excellent. We wiil be back.

The Logis in Saint-Pol-sur-Ternoise was not serving dinner the night we were there, so we ate at La Saint Poloise. The restaurant seems like it once was a factory, so it has great character. Nobody in the restaurant spoke English, but the young man serving us was very patient with my limited French. The restaurant offers a 3 course dinner, which we both ordered. I started with garlic prawns, which were overdone. For the entree, I had a strip loin that was very tough and needed seasoning. My wife's starter was foie gras with brioche, which was good. For the entree, she had steak with grilled vegetables. The steak again was too tough and the vegetables were grilled black on the outside and still raw on the inside. For dessert, we both had chocolate ice-cream with chocolate sauce and whipped cream.Very poor quality of food made for a disappointing meal at La Saint Poloise.

Good value set menu with plenty of choices for all three courses. It was good rather than very good (but good is not a rating option) but it was good value. The service was very slow but we were a big group so I expect that was the reason. Nice friendly host and staff.

Saint Pol is a charming town and this was a nice place to stop and have a cafe. The owner speaks no English but a friendly 'you're welcome'.
