A small restaurant in a village on the side of a very quiet road. The appearance of the building belies the quality of the food. French cooking at it's best - simple, imaginative and very tasty. We were a group of four and between us had a good selection off the menus and had no complaints about any thing.Service was friendly and efficient.Definitely worth visiting if in the area. We would have visited a second time but they are not open every evening - check before visiting especially early in the week.

A great traditional french menu to choose from with the food being presented beautifully and it was delicious. The atmosphere is calm and the terrace view is great. The waitress and waiter (who speaks excellent english) were charming. Thank you for a wonderful lunch.

It is not easy to start from scratch replacing a one star establishment, but Maison du Terroir is up to the task, and they really do remain true to the terroir, with an deep and well-curated selection of wines from Maury.Aude, the sommelier, and Eve, the chef, are genuinely devoted to making the experience a great one.Their wine shop is also a great place to get some of the harder-to-find Maury wines.

This tiny restaurant provides simple food all home made with ingredients coming from the surrounding farms, mostly organic; all was very fresh, healthy and delightful. The welcome and the service were very friendly. I recommand it warmly for a stop after or before visiting the Cathar castles of Peyrepertuse and Quéribus.

We decided to go to EAT to this restaurant in the centre of Maury. You have a menu with entrée, main course, desert and coffee. All for 16 EUR.The food was excelent, a Saumon cake ( similar than a Quiche Lorraine), a burguinyoise with pasta and carrots, a flan de café with caramel and last the coffe. The Owners are extremely friendly and I recommend this place to everybody who want to taste french and local food at this region.

Attractive village restaurant run by second generation of the family. A friendly welcome. I chose the ⬠29 menu with a ⬠3 supplement for foie gras which was simply the best I have ever tasted. This was followed by a civet de sanglier (wild-pig stew), a huge serving with a lot more than a kilo in a bowl - very tasty. Dessert was a delicious fig-tart.The wine I chose was from a local producer - Chateau Trillol, 4 km away nr Cucugnan - at ⬠19/bottle. When I commented how good I thought it was, the restaurateur fetched me a leaflet which listed the range and retail prices at the vignoble. My ⬠19 bottle would cost me ⬠9.40 in the shop: first time a restaurateur has done that for me !I did drop in and buy 3 bottles the following day.

We had lunch at the Le Pouss, on a weekday. Uncharacteristically, the place offers no menu du jour, but well. Trying to be a considerate tourist I did my best to order in French and was met - just as uncharacteristically, that never happened elsewhere in the whole three-week holiday - with gruffness and the pretense not to understand a single word I said, making me point at things in the menu. The food, though, when it arrived, was okay, though nothing special, and the outdoor terrace is quite nice, too.

Stopped for coffee at Mas Peyre and ended up having an excellent wine tasting. Children were also included in the wine tasting with raisin juice to try. The organic wine, produced by the owners, has won many prizes and was very good. In the end we spent a good hour here and left with two bottles of their dessert wine (one white, one red, â¬18 a bottle) â these were the wines we liked the most during the tasting. As well as selling Wine, Mas Peyre also functions as a Bistro and an organic grocery store. Prices for food and drink were very reasonable.

I ate here twice with two colleagues on consecutive nights in early July 2014 (alas there is not a lot to choose from in St Paul de Fenouillet). This place is excellent. Really good, slightly elaborately presented, but carefully prepared food. For starters, I had an excellent vegetable terrine on one occasion and a delicious tuna tartare the second time. Their steaks are simply superb - really excellent beef, obviously from a happy animal! They also have a good selection of local wines from the Agly coop, which I recommend to try. Overall, a friendly place and excellent value for money.
