We found this place unpretentious while serving excellent French food. We went for the fancy set menu and were very happy with all the dishes. A lot of care is put into the food and the result is delicious! The decor and presentation of the food could do with some changes, but they don't detract from the quality of what you're served. The service was excellent and the chef made sure to check in on the customers. Thoroughly enjoyed the pate, the filet mignon, the excellent local cheeses and sumptuous deserts!!

Handy for the auto route and near to our hotel. Being vegetarian we did have a few choices. We liked the potato churros especially on the sharing plates.Nice outside seating area. Staff were friendly and helpful. Prices were reasonable and we were all full.We all enjoyed our evening at La Pataterie. Thanks

Situated just at the border of Troyesâ historic center, some reviewers referred to this restaurant as a tourist trap. I couldnât disagree more. The food was really good, service fast and friendly and ... the restaurant offers a choice of (good) champagnes for les than EUR 6 per glass. Once more TAâs overall review ranking pointed me towards a great meal.

Small restaurant close to centre. Food was well cooked and very tasty, including green vegetables. For lovers of puddings it offers a self serve selection to satisfy anyone with sweet tooth.

Forget the tourist traps in town and walk 10/15 minutes from the centre to this charming brasserie set in an old mansion. Young and enthusiastic staff who speak better English than I do French. Delicious home-made food. Large terrace with slatted sun shade so you can eat outside in the garden if the weather is kind. Only quibble is that wine by the glass is expensive at 5+ ⬠per 100cl and served in ridiculously small tasting glasses. Mainly frequented by the locals which says it all.

à quelques kilomètres de Troyes
The food was very good, large potions, and well presented. We had the salad champagnoise, which included snails and lardons, huge serving and very filling. Also tried the Coq au vin, again a huge serving, really too much, but very nice. The risotto was really good. We just couldn't handle dessert after the other courses. Service was friendly and we had a nice night. Total bill including a bottle of Bourgogne red was about 80 eu.

Coming from BELGIUM for the weekend, we had the chance to book our first table at « Au flex Troyen » which was an amazing unique experience. Fresh food, local products, simple but efficient owners, value for money wise, Amazing !Very small and authentic room, with outside tables in an idyllically frame !Great concept of « no menu » = « products of the day » : fresh, bio, local, short circuit delivery are the main words of this place. Thank you very much for your kindness and you love of sharing good experience with us. ITâS DEFINITIVELY A MUST TO DO !Ohhhh merci pour tant de reconnaissance pour notre travail et passion ! Au plaisir de vous accueillir de nouveau avec de nouvelles saveurs !

Jean-Paul Braga is the head chef and owner of this establishment . He is very kind and very friendly; he came out to greet me as I have a little bit of a name for fine food. I teach the culinary arts, and write about it quite often. Plus my cousin eats there often and he wanted to make certain that I could meet him.Braga makes every single dish extraordinarily beautiful as well as mouthwatering delicious. Garnishments are not independent of the entrée, the plat du jour, or the desserts. Everything is very well integrated and of course perfectly prepared!I fell in love with the quirky little shot glass that held a gazpacho of cucumbers topped with a carrot mousse with a feather of perfectly prepared pain grillee'. It was refreshing, and the distinction between the two textures of the dispatcher and the carrot nose was fabulous. Of course we were right in the middle of the Champagne region of France, the champagne was wonderful. But then if you have ever visited Troyes and the surrounding countryside , you would expect it to be just so. My cousin loved his steak blue, his copine adored her fish ; but no one could have enjoyed their plat more than me. I had roasted duck playing with fire gravy on top of black beans with beets. There was a delightful beat chip to garnish as well as nigella seeds placed on the decorative splashes of beet mousse on the rim of the bowl that contained my glorious food. It was not just beautiful; it was delicious. The wine was excellent naturally; and I was quite full. But then my cousin suggested dessert! It's amazing what someone can do with something as simple as the pitted prune !Prunes were macerated and then stewed in juice flavored with cognac and prepared with a lovely vanilla bean ice cream on top. Honestly I wasn't certain that I want wanted prunes. But Roland said that I would really enjoy it. He was so right; and it went down to likely with a nice size glass of eau de vie Poire. I did not ask him how he was able to drive; I just knew I could not.We dressed nicely for this restaurant because it is a little upscale. I wouldn't say that it was expensive; but it was definitely not inexpensive. Continental dining combined with a little bit of nouveau made this place a real experience.

There are many restaurants in Troyes but we thought this had one of the prettiest locations - a courtyard off the Rue des Chats. Our food was simple but very well executed, everything tasted great with a special mention to an amazing creme caramel and the overall bill was on the low side of reasonable. Add to this charming service and a delightful cat mimicking the pose of the statue of a cat on the well, it all was a wonderful evening. think you and maybe see you . good holydays
