Sea food restaurant, mussels and homemade chips. French gastronomic specialities like Foie Gras, local fishes,... Family restaurant with child menu Large wine list
Two couples for supper in March 2019. Lots of choice on the menu and I could have eaten anything or all of it. St-Omer is an easy overnight stop, but has great little restaurants that you shouldn't miss.

In the city center of St Omer, Ril's team welcomes you to dine in style for any occasion; a casual bite, an evening with friends & family or a date. Come and enjoy the authentic taste of wood fired pizzas & meat with carefully selected ingredients. A new
We visited Rilâs when it first opened and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. This was our first return to St. Omer since and we decided to book a table in advance. Just as well that we reserved a table because it was very busy and people were getting turned away.Despite how busy it was the service was of a high standard, very attentative and efficient. We started with a sharing seafood plate with toasts and it was an excellent choice. Followed by spare ribs which were excellent and my wife had a beautifully cooked steak which was very tasty and tender. No room for a dessert but the choice looked excellent and people on nearby tables certainly seemed to enjoy what they received!Very nice wine, good quality and very good value. Whenever we return to St.Omer this will be our first choice for an evening meal and booking in advance is highly recommended to avoid being turned away.Thank you so much for your very nice review peterhampton! what a pleasure to read such positive comments about our food, service and prices! We really enjoy having nice and friendly customers like you and hope to welcome you again very soon ! have a fantastic week!

We discovered that getting a booking for 10 people is not easily done in France. I have to confess that my expectations were not high when we were shown to our table. However what a pleasant suprise. Our waitress was quite frankly superb and managed our rudimentary grasp of the french language with great skill and good humour. The food was delicious and plentiful as was the wine! A great evening was had by ten 'old ' golfing adversaries.

We went for dinner on a Saturday evening and it was a good job we booked earlier in the day as they were full and having to turn people away. The food was delicious with everyone liking everything we ordered. The t- bone steak was great but the creme brulee didn't have the crisp top we'd have wanted. Service was good but did get the impression an extra pair of hands would have been useful at times. Overall would happily recommend and return again some time in the future

The evening we dined there the restaurant was empty which may be led to a more sombre tone to our meal. That said, all the food that was presented was interesting if slightly lacking in focus and amount. I agree with other reviewers but the starters and the deserts were the stars of the meal. The main courses being the weakest members of the fixed priced menus. The service was good and the chef interested in feedback which is always welcome. For the prices charged this offers good value for money and I look forward to going back there next time I'm in St Omer.thank you for this comment hope to see tou soonmichael et valerie

Everything about this truly French restaurant is professional. Exceptionally well-run, clean with absolutely superb food. After a warm welcome by Kate you can be sure of a really enjoyable authentic French meal. Last night, we were back for more. The wine list is very carefully chosen to match the menu, on Kateâs advice we chose to go for a drier, well-rounded red from the Loire Valley, an excellent choice at a reasonable price. The first course is easy for me, les Escargots every time, but my husband chose the Crottins de Chevre Frais Roti au Miel, Thym et Speculoos, hot dish with goats cheese, honey and thyme with a fresh green salad, which not only looked super, was very much enjoyed and made me wish I had swayed away from my usual choice.......nevertheless my Esgargots were a good as they always are.For main course, still with the Loire red, the Magret de Canard du Sud Ouest (Duck breast with Orange sauce) and the Rumsteak de Boeuf, Facon Rossini Flambe au Cognac, Foie Gras et Aromes de Truffe ( Flambeâed Steak with goose liver) were absolutely superb. We lingered longer which meant another bottle. Then on to dessert, tough decision, Cedric is such an awesome Chef, we nearly went for the Creme Brulee, knowing how good it is, but could not resist the home made Trio of Sorbet.A passionate hard-working Chef husband and Front of House wife team, the comfortable, elegant La Belle Epoque is truly worth a visit on any visit to St Omer. In fact worth going to Sto Omer just for the restaurant.

This restaurant had been recommended to us as an excellent place to eat and it certainly lived up to expectations. We reserved a table for lunch and our experience proved a highlight of our trip to St. Omer. The ambiance was welcoming and intimate in a stylish setting! We were very well looked after by all the staff and enjoyed, what can only be described as a fabulous three course meal. Each course was accompanied by a glass of complementary wine, included in the meal price. Amazing food at a reasonable price. Next time we hope to get a table for dinner as we thought it was quite a romantic restaurant.

What an enjoyable evening. We'd booked for an hour later but were pasing so nipped in to ask if we could start earlier. Absolutely no problem.Once inside, it's a quirky journey, with old fashioned toys to entertain and the menus concealed in fascinating old magazines. There were only 4 tables when we were there and a single sitting so no rush and no crowding. The front of house and cooking are all the same person and he manages a warm welcome, conversation and first rate food. Fresh food, freshly and beautifully cooked without pretence. It was a good job we started early as we left quite late! You do need to book in advance but you won't regret it.
