We made a lunch stop here after driving through the Gorges de lâArdeche. A home-made burger and chips, crepes and ice cream, coffees and a bottle of water came to 28 Euros which was good value. The non-English-speaking waitress was very friendly and the café is in a pleasant square overlooking the River Ardeche.

Canoeing the Ardeche was a final paddle after a week in France. After loading the boats on the cars we found this restaurant, very welcoming and accommodating. You need a modern French dictionary but I had lovely duck breast followed by a meringue, chocolate, ice cream and cream desert. The only disappointment were those "funny L shaped" chips we found elsewhere.

If you're after top quality meat, cooked simply and served with frites and a basic green salad then this is the place for you. It's part restaurant part boucherie so they're proud of their fresh and well sourced produce. The dining area is a shabby, tightly packed, outdoor courtyard with well used Formica tables and a gravel floor, which doesn't look promising. The clientele were mostly French, tourists and locals, the atmosphere is chatty and lively. Only one waitress served the entire place, but she didn't put a foot wrong and we received our food quickly. Be warned though that you may be sat next to smokers, for me this is a downside to eating outdoors in French restaurants. We ate slow cooked lamb shoulder, lamb cutlets, and Côte de Boeuf (shared between two), all of which were tasty and well cooked. Portion sizes were ok, the lamb shoulder possibly a bit small, the others were fine but not huge. Frites and a dressed green salad come with everything, good chips, nice salad. This is basic dining at it's best, a short simple menu offering excellent cuts of meat and local wine at reasonable prices. It's the perfect antidote to the generic, tourist restaurants that dominate the town centre.

Wow what a nice view. Over looking the Ardeche. Easy food and good quality. Donât expect any fancy dishes. Plates are well dressed and they use only regional ingredients. So if you look for a good meal for good value this is the place.

If you fancy a 20 minute walk through a natural stone footpath along the river, from St Martin, you arrive in Sauze, ready to eat. Great restaurant with a fine, and much needed, water system that makes sure you stay cool whilst your baking in the mid-Summer heat! Good choice of food although slightly more expensive that Patou Batou Guingette that is across the road - both restaurants worth a try!

Situated in the center of Aiguèze which is a village among the most beautiful villages of France ("Les plus beaux villages de France"), Le Bouchon welcomes you in the shade of the plane trees at the village's main square. Open from April to Octobre.Runned
We had a very nice dinner in the restaurant, and enjoyed both the friendly service and delicious food. The outside seating on the village square is lovely, but the inner courtyard and inside also looked very nice. We will be back next time!

+ excellent/ fine food for a very low price+ if you can sit outside you have a great view on Saint-Martin dâArdèche and the famous bridge+ very friendly staff-If you sit inside the lightening is quite unpleasant, half of the lightening would be more than sufficient.

We did spend dinner with the family and it was ok. There is a playground for the kids which is great. The ambiance is fine. The food is very average and the pizza especially the paste was vey French. The meat ok but too much cooked but the salads were good. However we have spend a nice evening.

We ate from the 21,90 menu and with a couple of bottles of wine we had an excellent, reasonably priced dinner. Nice location overlooking the bridge. Good sized portions so come hungry!
