After reading positive comments on this place, we decided to give it a try. First time eating in a hotel restaurant without staying in the hotel. We had 3 tapas and they were delicious (foie gras on toast, munster cheese and shrimps). Then we had 2 burgers and they came with fries (not fresh ones unfortunately). Good quality burger but a bit pricey. We could even have same quality in Basel for 15⬠instead of 17⬠or 20⬠here. Otherwise atmosphere is different as customers are mainly from the hotel so low expectations if you decide to go

A la carte menu in the Restaurant Zunftstube, value-for-money dining in the Bistro and exquisite wines are hallmarks of the state-of-the-art gastronomy in Basel's oldest guildhouse, with guaranteed market-fresh cuisine. Andreas Uebersax and his team prepa
I wanted to post this update to give this interesting place it's fair due. Last time we had large business group for dinner and it didn't go so well. The space itself is worth mentioning: beautiful antic tiled stove, modern mural on medieval theme, chandelier...This time it was a dinner for 2 and it was a very positive experience. Our dishes were perfectly executed and seasoned. Service was a bit of an issue at first as the lady did not speak/understood English well. That said once we got through the order taking it was good and attentive. Chef stopped by and checked on us. They offered 2 amuse bouches. Lobster and scallops were amazing however what it was served with I didnât like (tapioca, seaweed and fruit preserve). It was not complementary. My colleagueâs fish was divine.

A more contemporary bar than is usually found in the area. The service is friendly and unobtrusive and there is free WIFI. A fairly limited bar-snack type menu but the portions are very generous making it good value for money. Itâs packed at lunchtimes and so get there early or book ahead.

The menu is very balanced, with a couple of classics A la Card, and slightly different special menus. The dishes are prepared with care, and it shows. They are little works of art. i tried the "Plaisir" menu, with both fish and meat. perfectly cooked. Portions are relatively large. A good start and sign of things to come is the amuse, very special (although also relatively large). A special point is the service: although the personnel was young/in training, everything was done professional, and little introductions to each meal. Perfect.

This is my 2nd visit. Easy access from Basel via either tram 3 (since Dec 17) or 11. Roughly another 15min walk. The restaurant has different sections and decorations. Alsacien cuisine and decorations. Prices are reasonable (euro 30 to 40 pp) and generous portions. Menu seems to change from time to time. Nice ambiance. Quite full even on a cold winter week night. Alsacien food is not my favorite but its still a fairly nice restaurant in case you are in the neighborhood.

In the Brasserie Les Trois Rois we serve you with Swiss and French brasserie specialties, with ingredients fresh from the market, which bear testimony to the richness of the regional produce. The richly varied and colourful menu bears witness to the consi
Dinner at the Brasserie Les Trois Rois provided some challenges with the service. After seating us and providing menus and the extensive wine list, I indicated to the maître d' that we wanted to choose the wine and have a glass before ordering the food. This message seemed hard to get across, since he appeared at least three times asking us to order food without any sign of the wine. We persisted. It took quite some time for the wine to arrive and then we ordered from the menus. The waiter that was assigned to us spoke no English whatsoever, so asking for some explanation from the menus proved difficult. While we believe that the waiter thought he was providing good service, it was quite the opposite; he hovered around the table all night. As soon as we took a sip of wine, he refilled the glasses with another sip. At least twelve times! As soon as a plate was finished, it was whisked away. Perhaps the kitchen had run out of crockery? We felt like asking him if would like to pull up a chair and join us rather than hovering over our shoulders all night. This was the closest to an intrusion of privacy we have ever experienced in a restaurant (despite that fact he spoke no English). No peace, no privacy. It totally spoiled the evening. Shades of Fawlty Towers. The food was very good â the veal with kidneys and vegetables was delicious. At least they had a good chef. Pity about the service. And the restaurant was full!Dear GuestThank you for your personal review about your visit at the Brasserie Les Trois Rois during the fair Art Basel, our most busiest time in the year.We sincerely regret that we were unable to meet your expectations and that you were not entirely satisfied with the service provided. Our Chef de Cuisine Peter Knogl awaits you in the Cheval Blanc with a symphony of aromas, colours and harmonious tastes. Ingeniously prepared from the best nature has to offer us. The team of the Cheval Blanc has earned a place among the 100 best restaura
As you would expect, this 3 Michelin star restaurant is excellent in all respects. The Chef de Cuisine Peter Knogl was in the kitchen and Le Menu of 5 courses (without cheese) at 220 CHF provided some exciting, innovative dishes as follows: Hamachi japonais, ponzu, radish and avocado; langoustine, madras curry and Granny Smith apple; St. Pierre and green beans; Bresse pigeon and Tasmanian pepper; and Champagne, raspberries, mint and kalmansi. The Pigeon was our favourite, but they were all delicious and the presentation superb. The wine suggested was an excellent bottle of local Swiss pinot noir (less than 10km from Basel). The service was very good, perhaps a little understated. Delightful, moderate-sized room in this historic hotel made for a lovely evening.Dear GuestMany thanks for your detailed description and your great feedback of your recent visit at the Cheval Blanc by Peter Knogl. We are delighted to read that with our cuisine, service and wine recommendation, we could create a perfect dinner evening.
