This restaurant has been awarded a "Bib Gourmand" from Michelin & it is richly deserved. The food is beautifully presented from a wide menu. Seasonal specials also on offer.English is spoken, but not forced upon you.M. Farret is a superb chef, while his wife provides an entertaining & enthuiastic front of house. This is one of our favourite restaurants.bonjour,Merci pour votre belle critique. Nous aurons plaisir de vous retrouver l'année prochaine, comme à nos habitudes. Merci beaucoup

We ate outside with our 2 children. Nice sunny setting set back from road. Food was good, I had sole on the bone and my husband had a steak cooked perfectly. Nice wine recommended by waitress who was very helpful and friendly. We had a lovely meal on our last night in St. Jean de Monts.

Not having eaten here for sometime we were impressed. It was much improved in both décor and food. There is a very good menu choice and great service. Something for all taste. The sea food was especially good. The food nicely presented and good portions. Very friendly and efficient service. There were several people waiting for the door to open at 7.30 and the restaurant was soon full which is a good sign.

This small restaurant opened in February 2015, between the city center ("bourg") and the beach. It is located in a renovated building that served as a small hotel, and welcomed various restaurants one after the other since the 1970s. Do not expect great views (windows open on the "avenue de la mer" road) but excellent food at what we consider very small prices. The menu is short, so is the wine list, but this is good sign: you'll eat meals made from fresh and locally produced items (varying according to the season) and not from frozen or industrial food. We were amazed by the quality of the fish and the dessert we had for lunch with the 18 ⬠menu. Meals were original yet unsophisticated. Work and quality speak for themselves and the cook knows he does not have to unnecessarily complicate its dishes. The Loire valley wine we drank was also excellent and very reasonably priced. The waitress was both charming and efficient. How pleasant to find a real restaurant in a city famous for its tourist traps. We strongly recommend Le 104 and hope many guests will support this new team. The restaurant does not seem to have a web site yet, but it is on Facebook where you'll easily find details including the menu.

Drove to here after seeing good reviews online and we weren't disappointed. 5 of us to please and everyone enjoyed their food - fajitas, pizza, a potato gratin type dish. Nice wine. Lovely friendly staff. Worth going to - slightly off the beating track (for us anyway) but totally worth it.

Specialities of the region, fish, eels, frogs legs and also beef filet. Fresh products, everything is prepared in the kitchen and made by the chef. Nice local traditionnal restaurant.
First observations: Gorgeous old building with some open air and conservatory style additions. Friendly, attentive service. Fairly small, but varied menu. For our lunch we were offered the special starter of sardines and their wine of the day. We went for the wine, a lovely white Burgundy, which perfectly complimented my starter of home smoke salmon salad. Mrs Express went for the Foie Gras. Both were excellent with a great small salad, with assorted beets and micro herbs on the side, and the Foe Gras was also excellent. 5 stars each. My main of monkfish wrapped in bacon was very good, nice balance of fresh and salty with a nice tower of roasted summer veg and a lovely champagne sauce. But the fried risotto 'squares' didn't taste of much other than fried breadcrumbs and were a disappointment. 4 stars. Mrs E's beef fillet was superb though. Beautifully flavoured beef, amazing beef jus, lovely baby roast potatoes and a generous smeer of pureed root veg. An absolute triumph worth of a much more expensive restaurant. Deserts were very good; a perfectly 'tart' ie not too sweet, lemon meringue 'pie' with lemon sorbet was really tasty and the ice cream in a sugar bowl with cream, chocolate sauce and fruit also lovely. One small criticism was the bread served with the starters was stale, and not even a home baked roll that I would have expected in such a good restaurant. All in all, for a little over 100 EUR (we only had the bottle of wine to drink) and tap water, we both felt this a very fair price for the standard of food and setting.

What a lovely place, tastefully decorated with imagination and an excellent selection of wines. The friendly, charming owners are very knowledgeable about their wines especially those from local vineyards and I would suggest you ask for their recommendation if you want to try something different that you wouldn't normally choose.Although I say it is the best bar in town, it also serves very tasty food at reasonable prices including a tapas plate which is excellent and a perfect accompaniment for the wine. All together, a very pleasant and relaxed experience which I highly recommend.

Visited this lovely place on the recommendation of trip advisor and we weren't disappointed. Although during peak season book as its booked out every evening. By far the best moules on the vendee. It's that old cliche do one thing and do it well and this place clearly does that. A variety of moules and combinations that you wouldn't think of putting together such as moules bolognese but it works.... Promise. Brilliant value for money, and the two ladies that run the place are wonderfully friendly and even tolerated our attempt at French. Well worth a visit.

Come to discover our menus around a table combining local dishes and sea food, share in peace a good time with family or couple in zen and relaxed atmosphere
Always a choice of fish or meat as the main course on the set menu. The oysters (6) as a starter were delicious. Lamb shank was oh so tender and the pear poached in curacao was a delight - see photo. We ate dinner here for a week whilst staying in the Hotel Atlantic and each meal was a delight. We could have chosen from the A La Carte but the set menu was always tempting enough! The staff were attentive and even when the restaurant was busy, the service was always fluid. The chef was willing to cope with variations such as having potatoes instead of rice. We were also able to keep our bottle of wine from one evening to the next. Vegetarians options are available.
