Pascal Devalkeneer took over the Chalet de la Forêt in December 1999. This grand property perched at the edges of the forest benefitted from an exceptional location and the young chef immediately saw the potential for an outstanding restaurant! From his e
This is one of the most charming restaurants Iâve been. Lovely setting in the woods and itâs great design - old villa beautifully designed.Apero will be served at the income where lovely sitting area near fire place is set.Food was excellent - some new combinations, lovely presented.Service was very polite and on the high level. Two remarks - Flemish is not widely nor well spoken and price for this experience is high.

Surprising little twists on French classics and inventive approaches to old favorites; I sampled the delicious, crispy 'ris de veau', one of the small selection of specials, while my wife enjoyed a succulent steak from the standard menu. Nice, friendly atmosphere too and a good wine-list. A few unusual wines at decent prices so overall, this is what my friends would call a 'Geheim Tip'. Highly recommendable.

Well, Waterloo wasn't famous as it is now to get such a great offer regarding at the large range of restaurants.Recently, after years and years of lifespan, "Le Petit Paris", a former ice-cream parlour shouted closed the doors. The Little Paris, just kept the name but changed everything else. I was very curious and after several visits (summer and autumn, inside and outside, lunch and dinner) I have to confess that I was well surprised. The atmosphere is quite charming and it is a very busy place. Everything is running in the main room: bar, food, kitchen and even the entrance. But what is making the key strength of this place is definitely the food! What a surprising and delightful experience. The quality and the originality of the dishes ( - they are seasonal) is very pleasant. Aside, they offer a very (short) wine selection (I am from the Red camp and they're good at it!). Service is good, but on the phone they're not all the time very friendly (the same occurred once when I crashed the place without a booking confirmation). But not here to add spots on this little gem! I do recommend it if you want to eat in Waterloo and as a tip, and if you're like your little sweet touch, pick up the "cafe gourmand" as a dessert!PS: note that it is quite expensive, last time 130⬠for 2. But it worths it!

Don't know about this town, if you don't make a reservation, you won't be able to eat in the highest rated restaurants. This is the case here. I got in because I stayed in the hotel and can finish before 8. Really good food, and worth the trouble. Three course for 35 euros. See the pictures.

This restaurant is only a specialist of cooked fish as sea bream, sea bass, cod, sole fish, etc. Lobster and Mussels only on reservation the day before your booking.
The staff was friendly and the presentation of the food was fantastic. However, I wasn't that impressed with the quality of seafood and a friend got sick the next day after having eaten the Wolffish. Paying close to 25+ euros per main would demand a little more in terms of quality. Maybe we were there on a wrong day but we aren't going back in a hurry.Hello sir, We are very sorry for your friend who was sick but we're not sure that it depend of our food and our quality. We are delivred twice per day and the freshness of our product is very very important for us.The next time (we hope!), can you tell us directly your disapointing and we are sure that we could find a solution.Thank you for your adivce.Best regards, Maxime Van Bellingen.

I was quite excited about coming here. Driven passed it a few times and expected it to be brilliant. Deceivingly, it isn't and misses the point a little bit. I can understand the "Rhodes, and Waterloo stereotypes" to like it and, park their German rear engined cars on the other side of the road when spaces are available in the car park, but this bloke just wants a bit more.To be fair the service was ok and friendly but my gripe is with the food. Sure the croquettes de crevettes tasted like any others you can get in any restaurant in Belgium. Nothing special!Following this I went for the carbonade and frites. But to be honest in didn't taste homemade. The might was tender, but the taste just wasn't there. And the frites, i know places seem to pander to vegetarians, but real belgian frites are cooked in graisse de bÅuf. Here they are obviously are not. It's a real shame. As I said, this place could really get it right, but at the moment, they don't. I enjoyed my evening and I'll probably go back, but there are plenty of other places.

I went here simply to try the number one rated restaurant in Waterloo.I was initially worried as the entrance via a nondescript car park doesn't make it look too appealing, but inside it's nice. The staff were friendly and the food was good, but in all honesty, I can't say that this is the best restaurant in Waterloo - it's good, but not the best! Some other little things, I was regularly ignored when trying to order dessert, and it took me some time to order it.Worth a try though.

This restaurant serves Belgian specialties in traditional, charming settings. Although I am not a big fan of the local cuisine I loved everything about the meal. My starter was a ârevisitedâ carpaccio, truly delicious. My Belgian family members had asperges and boulettes, steak and of course lots of frites, and loved them. The place was crowded with locals, but service was smooth and friendly. Also loved the quirky decor touches, like the elderly wooden gentleman with specs and the pink âcarâ. Definitely recommend.
