Revel is such a charming village, with its gorgeous central square with arcaded sidewalks and huge covered marketplace and half-timbered houses. I wanted a fast lunch but a good lunch. I asked the woman delivering the mail. She recommended Bistronome, located just outside the historic gates on the busy Blvd de la République. I was the very first customer, at precisely 12noon. The restaurant was completely full by 1220, including a pre-reserved table of 12 or 14 persons. Starter, main, and dessert for â¬14.80. Fantastic price, friendly and incredibly efficient service. Four or five choices for each course. I had a very good vol-au-vent to start, then a good but slightly dry rack of pork with courgettes and fried potatoes, and a typical ile flottante for dessert. Large portions of everything. Excellent bread. Comfortable seating. The owner, friendly, present in the room, and working, attentive to every detail. Great experience! This is not luxury or gastronomic dining, but it's what every French village strives to offer.

Nice ambiance and decent food. But the service ruins the experience. It was a very busy Sunday lunch, but the wait staff seemed to go out of their way to be rude. When our bottle of rosé arrived, the waiter practically smashed it on our table and then ran off. After 5mins of trying to get his attention for some wine glasses, he returned in a huff and announced there were no more glasses and we'd have to wait. Would not return to this restaurant unless they retrained all their staff in customer service.

This is a warm, welcoming country restaurant, right on the lake at Revel. Prompt and courteous service, better than I expected. Very good wine selection, excellent food, creative and fresh desserts. Three of us had two bottles of Corbière and the 20⬠menus for about 96â¬, very reasonable. My menu began with Salade au chêvre chaude (a favorite), then the confit du canard, and finished with pêche melba and café. The decor is a bit bright and unromantic, but the rest that I have mentioned makes up for it.

We came relatively late to this apparently popular place, as it was packed even after 21:30 P.M and we had to sit on the high bar stools. The three of us opted for differentdishes on the rather extensive menu for this kind of establishment, a cafe -brasserie. My friends had a steak tartar, very rare, and an entrecote, and I had the "nanard" burger that had a touch of a fois-gras, in addition to the beef and salad. The french fries that accompanied the steak and the burger were over done and stale, and should better not be served at all. my friends were happy though with their respective tartar and entrecote. Since they couldn't recommend any local French beer (strange!) we had a couple of Heinikens from the tap. Service was o.k, and the prices moderate.Good if you are looking for a late evening bite and friendly environment.
Enjoyed a wonderful burger with accompanying salad and chips while watching steaks being cooked over an indoor fire. Due to the numbers of people eating here it was a firm favourite with English and French alike and I witnessed the staff greeting guests as friends who were clearly regulars. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal which was excellent value fir money, the restaurant was clean and attractive and the staff friendly and attentive. The only criticism is that the evening we were dining they had a tv playing a tribute toFrances National here Johnny Halliday and after several hours of that it did get on ones nerves but happily thatâs not a daily occurrence!

Arrived at 1.45 pm for lunch for 7 people. Often our experience has been less than positive at this time in France. However, we had a fantastic warm welcome. The staff are lovely. The food was really great, large portions, well presented and very very tasty. The environment is very pleasant, clean and well cared for. Great view of the lake. I would highly recommend this place, and would definitely return.

We enjoyed our meal in this well designed, modern French restaurant which is right in the centre of the delightful town of Revel, opposite the market square. The staff were friendly and we found the service very good. To start we shared a fantastic Charcuterie board which had a great selection of meats. The steak Tartare and chips was excellent and came with various accompaniments. The stand out dish was the Croque Monsieur and I never thought I would say that about a toasted Ham and cheese sandwich! This was one of the more expensive lunches we had whilst we were in the area but we still felt the restaurant offered good value.

Visited twice during our stay in the region and not disappointed at all. Reopening in February this year under the ownership of Manu the cuisine is simple and a tad different from the local fare. Interesting choices- the 14⬠menu du jour quite adequate Local wine list and cocktail selectionSet on the outskirts of Revel on the St Ferreol road it's easy to find with ample street parking. Would recommend
