Dans un établissement de caractère venez découvrir au coeur de Rambouillet un cuisine raffinée de la mer ainsi que de nombreux vins et champagnes.
This is the only restaurant in France which serves escargots without utensils (especially the needed pincher to hold the escargot). We both burned our finders trying to eat them. The chef has decided that we should eat them without the pinchers. My husband was furious and they were impossible to eat. Bring Americans here and they would sue the restaurant. Also he has downgraded the pastis, the favorite aperitif of the French in summer. The place is very pretty but the chef should be replaced.

Four of us had just flown into Paris from the US and were meeting my college roommate from London for dinner. She and her husband had checked out Le Villa Marinette in tiny Gazeran the night before, and found it good enough to return the next night. We were early (7:30PM) and the restaurant was nicely quiet. The table for 6 was perfect for conversing, and the dinner was so good, we never noticed the room filling up as the evening went on. We were brought complimentary Kir as we started along, with a lovely plate of mixed hor d'oeuvres - also complimentary. Some of us had excellent fish, served with fresh, seasonal asparagus, some beef, some veal...every selection was beautifully presented and perfectly prepared. The menu changes seasonally. We saved room for dessert, and the complimentary little sweets, and enjoyed each selection. If we were staying longer, we would return! Perfect service, food, ambiance, and appropriate cost. So much nicer than a crowded Paris restaurant!

Had 3 course lunch at â¬15, and it was very nice. Friendly people, pleasant dining area, seemed popular at lunchtime. Good menu choices too.

Stopped for lunch enroute to airport. Husband had choices from menu of the day, and I went 'off piste' from the restricted availability a la carte. Husbands terrine and salmon were both excellent. Both main courses were served with very discoloured jacket potatoes and sour cream. Mine was so cold I had to return it. Other diners choosing from menu of the day appeared to have crunchy potato wedges!delay in bringing me warm potato meant my meat was cold. All in all a bit disjointed and disappointing on my part. Husband's was generally much better.

Located just off the main street, this small place offers a good selection of products, homemade and from the Southwest of France.Nice charcuterie, saucisson and paté, good selection of cheese, goat, ewe and cow of course, a particular mark for their St Nectaire and the fourme d'ambert.A few good wines by the glass, and bottles are available too, from different French regions.Generous 'cafe gourmand', but the cafe itself was of poor quality.Service can be a bit slow as soon as the room fills up, but it is okay on the whole. There is also a terrace, offering protection vs the rain.Reasonable price at around 20â¬pp, wine included.

One of the reasons we ate here is because I was able to book a table online through LaFourchette.com at home and the gets a high rating among different sites. The online booking makes things a lot easier since my french is not that good. The restaurant has a space inside a kind of greenhouse of a similar size attached to it. We weren't sure where to sit as we were apperently quite early (19.30) on a Friday. The other guest started to arrive from 20.00 onwards an all went straight for the greenhouse thing. So if you like to sit among other people - like we do - you know what to do.If you like seafood then this is definitely a place for you. They have an excellent choice of fish and platters. We shares a platter with mussels, clams, lobster, crab, shrimps and snails which was delicious and plenty for the both of us. We also had starters, got a fantastic amuse and desert was also wonderful. The only I was hoping for was a little more support from the waitress a to what would be the best wine to drink with the seafood. All in all great dinner but too bad all the other guest went to the other room. The staff could've supported us a bit more perhaps here.We stayed in Rochefort-en-Yvellines by the way, which makes it easy to reach and find. The restaurant also has a private parking area.

Bistrot Gourmand
The answer is yes and yes again. Good honest food made with quality ingredients, in particular Tuna, Foie Gras, Haddock en cocotte and market fish, along with some decent wines. we ate there twice over the weekend as the informal atmosphere was so welcoming. The two lads at front of house were efficient and welcoming working like beavers to ensure satisfaction; naturally they complemented the kitchen staff who did some lovely cooking. Be sure to get a reservation as it gets busy, more importantly be sure to go and enjoy this restaurant.

Went there on our last night in France. The food is good and well presented. The service is really nice as well. However, the dishes are what we call safe: nothing out of the ordinary, it's a pity because they have the potential.

A warm and personable welcome. The director was a butcher and he is proud to select the best meats from worldwide and the right cuts. Everything is homemade fries, sauces, salads, deserts except ice creams. If you like meat and look for a nice food experience go to this place. There is a patio backward. Good for all events.

Pierre and Sandrine have been running a fantastic restaurant for years now - first at Chez Renaud in Versailles and now at l'Opporthym in Gambais.Pierre's food is always excellent - he makes the best of local, seasonal, ingredients through skilled cooking and delicate seasoning.Sandrine's service is incredible - she manages the entire front of house and desserts single handedly - whilst remaining helpful and friendly. As a long-term patron of both Chez Renaud and l'Opporthym, and having eaten at almost all of the restaurants in and around Versailles, I can only recommend you visit Pierre and Sandrine and see for yourself! We're proud you had such a nice meal.If you have anything to suggest, let us know.Hope to see you asap,Pierre & Sandrine
