A little hidden in the old town center of Pontarlier, this is a cosy little place with an interesting menu. We had salty galettes and sweet crêpes, a wonderfully fresh salad and loved every bite of it. Coffee is good here, too. Service was friendly and quick (it was amazing to watch how one guy could handle it all), and if we lived close by we sure would be regulars here!

A delightful surprise in Pontarlier, family run pizza/restaurant with warm cosy surrounds. The food here is tasty, the staff are friendly and we are always welcomed like old friends. My daughter is treated like a little princess & the staff go out if their way to ensure she is happy with her food. Why do we come here? Because we are greeted with a smile every time & leave with happy tummies & smiles on our faces every time. You will too :-)

With my bro and best mate we stayed one night in this town. We were heading to Switzerland on our motorbikes. After a couple of beers we had a lovely meal here. The owner was very friendly and really looked after us. Lovely meal. Steve b

I visited this restaurant with a work colleague after visiting a client in Pontarlier. We spotted the restaurant after seeing the board advertising the menu in the street; inside the restaurant was nearly full (at around 12:30) but we were seated promptly.I chose the duck which was was served with potatoes, followed by crème brûlée and a coffee. The meal was uncomplicated, well cooked and hit exactly the spot. The restaurant was clean and friendly.

Warm, friendly and attentive service, from the moment we walked in to the minute we left. The food was beautifully prepared and presented - a work of art - it was a pity we had to eat it! Very reasonable price - we would have happily paid 50% more ..We would never have entered this restaurant without TripAdvisor, which is why we love it!

We have been the evening before to a 1 star Michelin, and for lunch to this one: much better! Food is delicate, tasty and feel natural (not too salty nor too fat). Recommended especially for the great quality/price ratio.

We had driven into Pontarlier and chosen the restaurant by chance. Restaurant was nicely located by the river. Beautiful little house restaurant run by a middle age couple. The food choices were on the blackboard outside the restaurant (we didn't know that). Food was great. The appetizers were delicious and remarkably made and very presentable. Our main course was a quiche. We enjoyed it tremendously - tasty and just the right amount. Coffee was good and well presented as well. The owners do not speak any English so communicating with them was a slight challenge with my limited french.

It was a sublime dinner. The ambiance was elegant and yet cosy, and my serveuse Morgane was attentive and so generous with her smile and warmth that we felt right at home the moment we were seated. It really took a whole village to make our sumptuous meal, and I would like to applaud the excellent Chef and his assistants in the kitchen, together with Mario the maître D and his team, for an unforgettable evening at Le Tillau.Thank you very much for your nice comment ! Making you happy and helping you to build great "souvenirs" is a real pleasure. Hoping to see you again on the top of our hill, maybe during winter next time ?
