Very friendly staff and well executed and tasty food. A garden for the kids to run around. Definitely worth a stop if you prefer a quiet place over touristic Conques! Would have given it a 5 score if it was a bit better priced (menu with three simple courses at 21euro)

At the crossroads of Quercy, Rouergue and the Auvergne mountains, gastronomy and conviviality are in the spotlight! Auberge de la Tour in the Cantal is a perfect example. Chef Renaud Darmanin invites you to discover his gourmet restaurant in the heart of
A stunning meal - innovative, creative, delicious - accompanied by glorious wines, in the heart of the beautiful Chataignerais, provided a very special backdrop to a long-awaited celebration with friends. The young chef and his talented team produced a wonderful menu, bursting with flavour and dedicated to local specialities (including the decorative flowers and leaves picked from neighbouring meadows!), exquisitely crafted and elegantly served. In addition to delicious amuse-bouches and gorgeous petits-fours, the stand out dishes for me were the slow cooked pork with carrots; and the foie-gras. But it was all a visual and gastronomic treat.Special thanks to the head sommelier, Sophie, who made us feel entirely at home, and recommended a wonderful selection of fabulous wines. Congratulations to the enthusiastic young team running the Auberge de la Tour - your recent Michelin star is very well deserved, and your attention to detail and warm welcome much applauded!

A whole trout cooked with lots of garlic and parsley and lardons served with chips whats not to like. This is a very comfortable unpretentious place with good home made food. The chef has a very nice car too.

This used to be such a nice place to eat after market day in Maurs. It was always busy so we knew we needed to book as we were a large group of 10. We arrived at 12.30 giving them time to serve the regulars first but by no means late and although our table was booked there were not ten chairs and we had to find our own from other tables which felt awkward. When the waiter arrived he announced that they had run out of most of the dishes so we had what was available and passed it round most of us got something they could enjoy but given I had booked a week ahead I would have thought they could have planned a bit better. I had to ask three times for bread and water for the table which is really not how it is done in France. The wine was put on the table but was not included in the price as it always used to be so the whole experience was unwelcoming. Just in case it was a bad day I sent our visitors there two weeks later warning them to get there at midday on the dot and they too were made to feel unwelcome and a nuisance. Something has gone badly wrong with this restaurant that used to be one of the best places to eat in Maurs.
