We went to Chris’s with some expectations, based om good reviews, but this was still a positive surprice. The chevre was great, the grilled seabass was excellent and the cheesecake with Camenbert was a winner. The best thing with Chris’s was still the service, highly professional, nice and relaxing. We ate here recently and opted for the €13.50 evening meal offer which included an excellent soup or salad, steak with sautéed potatoes and dessert and coffee. Everything was nicely presented and well executed with fresh ingredients and great flavours along with a pleasant host who had a nice sense of humour. Cocktails & wine were also good and reasonably priced. Highly recommended

This restaurant was a short walk from our hotel. What a little gem for a reasonably priced evening out. Concept menu with drinks for €23. So good we ate here twice. Favourite dishes crispy prawns starter and cod main. Service was good and friendly. Owner also serving drinks and food. Only thing which could be improved is the refilling of glasses of water and wine which we had to ask for. ( other places in funchal do this automatically but they have been doing it for years.)
