Reviews on French food in Lausanne, Canton of Vaud, Switzerland. Lausanne was once an intellectual capital, attracting great thinkers such as Rousseau and Voltaire. Today it is a haven for those who love water skiing, swimming and sailing. The International Olympic Committee is even headquartered here. The town's history is evident, though, in its medieval cathedral, the museums of the Palais de Rumine, and Ouchy, the port where Lord Byron wrote "The Prisoner of Chillon" and the Treaty of Lausanne was ratified. For great views, hike up to the Signal de Sauvabelin.

The food was simply amazing. Meat was superbly cooked and the portions were very generous.Wine choice was also greatAmbiance is loud, full of local people.Maybe the owner should be a less full of himself and put customer first.

The specialties of our cuisine: the Chateaubriand, that you simply must try, or even the Bouillabaisse or whole sole and the latest creations: A diverse, seasonal kitchen inspired by the colorful market stalls, is served in accordance with the tradition o
We were staying in the hotel for one night en route by train to Venice. We had intended to explore the town but thunderstorms put us off so we eat in the hotel restaurant. The food, wine and service were excellent and prices not too high for Switzerland.Dear RobtLoughborough,I would like to thank you for writting your great comments about our restaurant. Thanks god for having bad weather that particular evening ;-).We hope hosting you back very soon.Kind regardsJoris BarbotinGM

We were traveling in the Lausanne region and found this very nice, charming restaurant at this Abbaye. Very interesting architecture in a mountainous location. We opted for daily menu - graciously creamy prepared potiron soup and super tender calf tendon with a fantastic red wine semi sweet reduction and deliciously buttery purée!

The brasserie restaurant in the Royal Savoy Hotel & Spa Lausanne offers delicious local specialities prepared with regional ingredients as well as signature dishes created by Chef Marc Haeberlin. The contemporary designed restaurant offers guests a gourme
This was a special first visit to celebrate a graduation, and the restaurant were informed of that prior. After ordering and waiting 30 minutes, we were told that there was no pigeon â disappointing and unprofessional that they had run out. They were apologetic and kindly offered a fish tartare entrée. Without the pigeon, the menu however (non-fish choice) was more limited and rather uninspiring, such that I unenthusiastically chose an Entrecôte at CHF 66- which was so mediocre (watery; overcooked; unseasoned; chewy) that I regretted it. It was then over an hour from seating to the entrée arriving, and overall the delivery of the meal was rather slow (over three hours for 2 courses and coffeeâ¦).The service itself was impeccable and the dining rooms are gorgeous. They honoured my table request. The brasserie had phoned me before to offer a âCongratulationsâ decoration on a plate at the end of the meal (I thought it was an attentive gesture), but they even forgot that!We spent almost CHF 500- for three people (no dessert). We will not consider doing that again.Dear cranny,Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience with us. I am very sorry to read that your experience did not meet your expectations. Your feedback is valuable in ensuring we provide memorable stay to our guests and I have already informed our Brasserie Manager of your comments. I would like to address your points as a way of explaining rather than excusing the issues you encountered. Our Chefs elaborate our menus predominantly with seasonal products and therefore it does sometimes happen that we are unable to prepare some dishes when the items are not available. For example the pigeons are not farmed and quantities depend on how many have been caught. We will remind our Brasserie staff to alert customers before they order and thus avoid any disappointment. After checking with our Brasserie Manager it appears that your table was visited a few times during the evening but unfortunately no feedback on the meat Entrecôte was given to our team. It is very helpful for us to have feedback even during the meal and we would have happily replaced your Entrecôte with a different cut. Regarding the congratulations decoration, our Brasserie Manager assures me the team placed it on the mignardises since no desserts were ordered. In relation to the length of service, how one perceives time is often subjective. We strive to make all our guests feel welcome and part of this is giving them time to savour the experience of dining with friends or family. However, we are delighted to know that you enjoyed the service and the decoration of our Brasserie.Sincerely,Alain KropfGeneral Manager

One of my favourite places in Lausanne. The food is always excellent, the service good. Good wine list and menu selections. Try to sit in the back room or if in the nicer weather definitely on the patio. Some items have two servings so I would ask as you well be surprised by the generous portions. Go itâs worth it.

Centrally located and pleasantly situated. Weather good and our group of nine sat outside. Seating available inside too where decor pleasantly mild. No intrusive music heard. Good service, excellent food and a good time had by all. Mains around CHF 30 but half portions on some dishes available. House wine seemed to start at somewhere near CHF 35 a bottle (did I read the bill correctly? They certainly seemed to be 750 mls bottles) - in which case it is rather less than many eateries visited. Good loos, close to pubic transport. Definitely go again.

a very positive surprise in Lausanne. Good food; we had the tuna and the dorade; the latter comes along with heavenly lentils. The crab avacodo mousse as a starter is a dream. The waiter was very friendly despite being alone and serving all guests. If anything the chairs look really worn. Can certainly recommend this place.

At the Ecole hoteliere de Lausanne
Our experience at BDS was perfect from start to finish. Attentive and unobtrusive the service was perfect. Food was beautiful at each course and also lovely to see the students being continually coached, encouraged and supported in their hospitality journey. A truly special experience.

We visit the Anne-Sophie Pic restaurant during lunch. We went for the emotion menu which was a fantastic choice with a very fair price for all the food.Everything we tasted was divine. Would definitely return. Also the service was fantastic. Dear Nina Sophie,Thank you for your feedback. I am happy to read that you enjoyed your time in our restaurant. I am looking forward to seeing you again. Frédéric StefaniniF&B Director

Welcome to Hotel de Ville de Crissier restaurant official page ! Elected best restaurant of the world in 2016 - The List. 19/20 Gault Millau. 3 Michelin Stars.
After many years, we have fulfilled our dream of having dinner at Hôtel de Ville. From the gracious reception at the front door to the personal good-bye from owner-chef Franck Giovannini, it was an unforgettable experience. We had the discovery menu: ten courses highlighted in our case (it was hunting season) by a saddle of deer in pepper sauce, very rare and sublime; it melted in your mouth. We asked the sommelier to serve glasses of wines of his choice, to accompany the various dishes. He did a masterful job, for example a delicate Chardonnay for our velouté of pumpkin, but a slightly more acidic Puligny Montrachet for our clémentine based hors d'Åuvre. Our bill came to 940 Swiss Francs, appropriate for the outstanding experience.
