The Marie Stuart is more than an exceptional restaurant. It is an exceptional experience. The Scottish proprietress is a delightful, friendly lady who takes a keen interest in her clientele. She is your aged aunt who has been awaiting your return. Her Guinness Book record-holding French husband is the doting uncle who makes sure you have everything you need and more. Beyond the exceptional service, the restaurant serves excellent home cooking from a menu focussed on a handful of quality meals. The Marie Stuart stands out as the best and perhaps only example of French-Scottish fusion cuisine. It is "le home cooked meal pour ma bairns."To top it off, the warm crowded Scottish decor gives that other worldly experience you would never expect in a regional French town. Do not miss the chance to dine here.

We had an outstanding night with outstanding service. Only down side is, we go home in a couple of days and wished we'd found it earlier. We arrived and we're warmly welcomed, they spoke fantastic English and even offered us an English menu. We found the food to be of great quality and ample size portions. Escargot were amazing as was the steak with Foie Gras. Pudding were the perfect finishing touch. Lots and lots of choices on the menu, both on food and wine. We would go back again, (in fact) we may have to squeeze in another visit before going home.

We had just arrived at the adjacent Mercure Hotel and had read the very good reviews of the bistro, so, against my normal prejudices regarding restaurants attached to big chain hotels, we gave it a try. From the aperitif to the end of dinner coffee, the meal was superb. Lots of choice on the menu and mainly traditional and locally-sourced food. The oysters were first rate, as were the duck breast and soupe de poisson. The only disappointment was the amount of fat (over two inches thick) on a pork chop, leaving little meat. The serving staff were friendly and efficient and we ended up having a relaxing and delicious meal, in a pleasant setting. Recommended.

Cuisine du marche, proposition a l'ardoise.
1st time at Le Sale Gosse. Friendly & professional service. Good selection and high quality food. Would recommend to make reservation for any occasion (about up to 33 guests seating capacity). The restaurant was almost full during our lunch. Parking may be challenging and may take you up to 7 minute walk (Main Street to the Napoleon Plaza). Would return to Le Sale Gosse.

I had the menu du jour at 14.5 euros which whilst not something to shout about was good value and freshly prepared. One of us had a 300g steak which was very good and the other a vegetarian dish which was good if not imaginative. Service was excellent, very friendly if you try your rubbish franglais as we did and its a nice location if you get a table outside for lunch.Thank you for leaving us this good review, we are glad you enjoyed your time.

One of the things I liked most about the food is the lightness of touch. Two courses, Choux pastry with trout and wasabi cream, cod with butternut squash, peppery cress and flaked almonds were both full of flavour but not overpowering and the simple unadorned walls and small unpretentious setting (about 26 covers, it gets very busy so book) make this a cosy, comforting experience. Our very friendly waitress was the only member of staff in evidence and worked her socks off all evening. A must if your in La Roche for any length of time and you can get a table.Thankyou very much for your comment. We will be very happy to welcome you back to Le P'tit Marais.

Restaurant Bistronomique Offrant Une Nouvelle Carte Tous Les Jours Selon Les Arrivages Et L'inspiration Du Chef Nous Proposons Ãgalement Des Plats à Emportés Et Une Ãpicerie Fine Au Sein Même Du Restaurant
There's a lot of inventiveness with the food here and everything is well presented, an amuse bouche, the table settings , the decor, the friendly welcome. The scallop starter was good if a little lacking in flavour, the lamb cutlet not as interesting as the vegetable melange on the same plate and the meat was a little gristly and not the rose colour I asked for. Having said that, my partner proclaimed her perch one of the best pieces of fish she's eaten for a while in its chestnut sauce. The cheese course was oozing and salty but essentially cheese on toast. The bottle of wine recommended on the table was great value and maybe I was unlucky with the lamb so I will definitely go back and try again.

A quality restaurant, where you will find a couple with complementary qualities, two actors who are based primarily on simple principles and reflect the values ââof quality cuisine.
An excellent dining experience which will take your taste buds to another level.Cannot fault anything about this place, food excellent, service excellent, price reasonable compared to the high quality of the food offered.
