Restaurant of 80 places(squares) with medieval decoration(set). Big bring down outside offering a magnificent view(sight) on the St-Lawrence river. Specialized in Chinese fondue, grill and seafoods.
Relation between food and price is completly lost. Below standard. Service is good. Scenery is lovely.

Dinner on husbands birthday so he had the lobster feast. He said it was good - not as good as Maine lobster but he enjoyed it. First seafood chowder, then Lobster, the. Creme brûlée. I enjoyed the salmon that they said was trout??? Must have been the language barrier. They were very friendly and caring and tried to overcome the language barrier.

Had a extremely nice romantic dinner with my girlfriend while staying at the hotel. The service was just perfect and the food was excellent for a reasonable price (for a high end restaurant).. The appetizers were very good, but the portions were on the small side. The main course was excellent and the portions were adequate. We had cheese and port wine for desert, although not on the desert menu but just ask for it.

Nested high in the cliffs of Pointe-au-Pic, the Auberge des Falaises opens onto the St. Lawrence River and offers an exceptional panoramic view of the Charlevoix coast. In this unique setting, enjoy the our savory cuisine made of exclusive Charlevoixâs an
Enjoyed a plentiful breakfast in a sunlit solarium that overlooked the bay. Table service was available or they had a smaller, well-stocked buffet for take-away. Also enjoyed dinner which offered a 4-course chef's selection or a la carte. I tried the emu spring rolls which were wonderful! Service was a little slow at both meals, but I believe that was on purpose so you didn't feel rushed. Staff would be happy to accommodate anyone needing to "eat and run".

I enjoy a few weekends in Mal Baie every year...a bit of art..abit of Domain Forget..a bit of great food..My stay at the Auberge des Peupliers met my needs...the rooms comfortable, the breakfasts very good, the service good. It was a busy time of the year and rooms were scarce in the area....book early as the the good places fill up quickly.

As you walk in the Auberge the smell might keep you from staying. Hope they will do something about it. Toilets are very clean. But the restaurant has a wonderful team. From the cook to the servers. Michel took the time to explain the dishes clearly and you can tell he knows what heâs talking about. He has a personality everybody enjoys and Eric is making sure youâre ok. May be heâs got a gps to watch over us. Both completely devoted to their job. The dishes we had was more than excellent. The chef makes food that could be from a (Michelin restaurant). However, the wine list is very unusual. We finally went for an American Cabernet. Happy we got just a glass. We will go back to Les 3 Canards soon.

Went for dinner while visiting and whale watching in the region. Food was fabulous, especially considering the price. We overlooked the river, it was awesome. We almost couldn't get a reservation, call ahead. Service was bizarre, bit somehow fun. You don't lose points for personality

What is interesting about the risotto method is that it is so long and labor intensive that restaurants cannot use it.Would take too long to make and customers do not like to wait half an hour for their food. What this means is that if you ever had risotto at a restaurant, you never had a true risotto. True risotto takes upwards of 20 minutes to make. " OUR RISOTTO WAS SERVED IN 5 MINUTES "The next dish was lamb which I found to be not very tender, however the next night we went to Restaurant Vices- Versa and had rack of lamb which was a joy to eat.Thank you for your visit and your comment. Now, my comments:First: If you think no restaurant serve a good risotto, why did you order one?Second: no dish served in 5 minutes here, because we serve first bread and mise-en-bouche (and wine when it is ordered).Third: we serve the leg of lamb at 36$ the dish, and Vice-Versa serve the rack of lamb at 69$ the dish. the leg isn't so tender, but the taste is there, and this is an opportunity to discover the delicate taste of the lamb of Charlevoix. Our clients and us really appreciate this plate since many years. You are free to criticize our work and to prefer an other restaurant, but, please, don't compare two completely different dishes and completely different styles of restaurant here.Cordially!

Wow, this was a very different experience- two menus, one from each chef (husband and wife) that contrasted each other. The menus are exceptional and compliment each other (you can choose from either /both menus). The ingredients are wonderful and the taste was divine. There are wine pairings for each menu item and they work very well. They are open limited days in the off season, so check first, but if you are in the area you should go.
