Rise is such a unique place where the entire meal from start to finish is an experience. From the decor to the ambiance to the food to the wine, every detail is not only thought through but perfected to create an overall feeling of sophistication while remaining fun and fresh at the same time. The soufflés are incredible, and their non soufflé items are to die for as well. It is the perfect spot for lunch or dinner, or even better to celebrate special occasions. Every meal at Rise is a celebration!Bonjour! Thank you for such a thoughtful review. I'm so glad you enjoyed your time at rise:) We hope to see you again very soon!

I’d give 4 1/2 if I could. Positives:1) excellent food : quality and presentation 2) waiters: very good and attentive service3) nice indoor decoration and outdoor seatingTo be improved:1) the outdoor is overlooking the parking lot. Can you use some green to hide it? It would make it perfect. 2) a little stuck up : more smiles when welcoming customers would go a long way

Artisans

Reviewed By Timothy F

One of the more disappointing restaurant experiences I've had in Houston. From the ambiance (tables too high, lights too low) to the bar service (cocktail not chilled, drinks not brought together despite not being busy) to the food (inability of the kitchen to improvise, food and sauce pairings not working). Overall service was slow, despite more than a few empty tables indicating the waitstaff and bar were not overly taxed. The escargot appetizer was good, if not difficult to execute. The same for the mixed salad. Main course was pan seared red snapper with a tomato-based sauce that didn't really work. The house made fettuccine was excellent, as was the snapper, but the whole dish was made average by the sauce and steamed zucchini accompaniment. Dessert was average creme brulee. The wine list was also disappointing: plastic sleeved pages in a binder doesn't really say "classy" and the quality of the cellar lacked diversity and cohesion. Perhaps the most surprising aspect of the evening were the prices, they are way out of line with the quality delivered. Overall the experience was quite disappointing. There are much better French restaurants in Houston (Etoile, Cafe Rabelais) with better quality in all areas. A return trip to Artisans won't be needed.
