Hilversum (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈɦɪlvərsɵm] ( listen)) is a city and municipality in the province of North Holland, Netherlands. Located in the heart of the Gooi, it is the largest urban centre in that area. It is surrounded by heathland, woods, meadows, lakes, and smaller towns. The setting is on the edge of the woods, with a large terrace, and I shared my first meal at Floyds with my friends last week. Each of us was impressed with the quality and flavors of the food. Each bite a delight. It was clear that a lot of care went into the recipes and preparation. The place was only half full on a weeknight, and I would have expected more people based on the quality of the experience. I hope more people learn of this place, as they deserve to be recognized as one of the best restaurants (for me the best!) in the area.
The place is wonderful, a li Ely energy under the trees.Inside and outside the place it feels cosy and very special. The manager was supportive in any way possible to make the crowded evening a success. Food and creative alcohol free drinks ( on my rewuest) were very good and timely served throughout the long evening. We could select and also using our own music with a lovely technical support in case of any issue. Last but not least a very convenient all inclusive offer!
French artisan bakery, located in Amsterdam, Amstelveen and Hilversum (The Netherlands)
A fabulous French bakery in Hilversum. Excellent levels of bread and pastry making and very attentive staff. The place is busy with some of the worst queuing you'll ever witness so be patient, but the wait is worth it. Best French bread I've had outside of France without a doubt - and a wide range too.

Sorry to say but this was a disappointing meal overall. It seems like the restaurant is aspiring to be something between âbrown cafeâ and a high end bistro without really achieving either. For a start, the cote de boeuf was tremendously fatty - almost 1/4 of it was inedible, the sauces tasteless and the disintegrating baking paper that the beef sat on simply a pain (at 53 euros for two people, thatâs poor). Then, the prices for starters and desserts was simply bonkers and not comparable to other restaurants in the area. I had eaten here a year ago and found it to be quite pleasant with a good standard of food at a reasonable price. Something had clearly changed. That said, one of the staff was very nice (he even offered more meat after we pointed out how fatty the main dish was) and the Tempranillo was good.

I've been here now for the 4 th time and everytime the chef Pascal is surprising me again with his great dishes. I like the meat dishes the most, and the wine card is also good. Choose the recommended wine with the dish and you'll be surprised by the perfect combination. Reserve in advance because the restaurant has limited seats. Also good service.

Cafe de Kaars is a great restaurant (and I am actually a bit surprised there are not more reviews) serving original and very tasty food (and also offering live concerts some Fridays and Saturdays). Each month they have a different special all you can eat dish (we went twice in September for the spare ribs that are delicious). Also the salads are very good, and the dishes come served with tasty french fries. The staff is extremely friendly, always smiling and accomodating to every need.Highly recommend.

We had a really good meal here with colleagues. The evening started really positively and with attentative service. We got to order drinks and they took our orders. The wines were excellent in relation to the price we paid and we had a very nice meal. The starters were displayed beautifully and they were tasty. We had to wait quite a long time for the mains but they were also good. Some of us had desert and that looked good too. From a food perspective I would rate it close to Michelin class and it really was not expensive. The service deteriorated through the evening which was strange they only had two tables to serve. Because of this I do not regard this experience as excellent.

My wife and I have eaten at many restaurants in Hilversum, but this new restaurant really impressed us! We celebrated our 35 wedding anniversary there last week and enjoyed every bite of our 4 course meal. The knowledgable sommelier helped us with some excellent choices of wines by the glass that fit each dish. Truly a delicious evening with very good service.

Old friends who live here took us to enjoy an evening meal. I had herring as a starter and halibut to follow. Both were delicious. We drank house white wine - the Sauvignon Blanc was excellent. Two courses each â¬217 including tip.

Small but nice restaurant, with great food, classical kitchen with a twist. The amuse is to die for: foie gras lollypop covered in white chocolate... Very nice wines, served by professional and knowing lady-owner, and dishes served with a passionate story on the flavours by the cook-owner.
