We were all quite disappointed in the food and service at Miramars. Not only that, even had both been good, we thought it was overpriced. We started with the endive salad special. Iâve never seen a less visually appealing presentation. The entire salad was white. No color at all. Virtually no toppings. Our skate(fish) special had an almost meat-like sauce on it. Service was poor. And the restaurant was more than half empty. No reason for us to return here. Lots of other Highwood choices less than a block away.

Succulent French fare blending classic and modern styles. Specializing in seafood and wild game. Great selection of wines and attentive service.
We were visiting my daughter on our 39th Anniversary and wanted to celebrate somewhere special. Many people suggested Froggy's.We sat in the main dinning room which we thought was so French. Loved the ceiling that was decorated with umbrellas from many places. Our server was attentive but not necessarily nice. He seemed to care more about the table next to us with a small child. We had to ask three times for him to chill our white wine,My husbands scallops were very good as well as my white fish.We thought the prices were very reasonable compared to other fine dining. The owner/chef introduced himself and sent over two glasses of champaign which we thought was very thoughtfulWe had a great time and the evening was lovely. We would come back on another occasion .

our party of four consisted of two French and two American spouses. We ate pate, snails, leeks in vinaigrette, sea bass and for dessert Paris-Brest which were all delicious. Two of us chose "quenelles" a dish from my hometown in France which was as goodand until now I have not found it in the Chicago area. Some people criticized typical american dishes. This a French restaurant so you should consider ordering French food. The dining room has been redone and is quite comfortable. We certainly will be back.
