Travelling through Southern Brittany one recent Sunday we sought out a restaurant for lunch. We were close to the town of Hennebont and went exploring. We chanced upon Le Chat Botte on a corner in midtown. My wife and I lived in France for a couple of years and are regular holiday visitors. Thus we may be said to have some experience of French restaurants. Sadly the restaurant scene is changing as upcoming generations , quite understandably, are not keen on the long training and long hours required in this service business. Small french hotels and family bakeries are similarly in a decline. What a treasure we discovered !!! The owner welcomed us into the delightfully decorated dining room. Offered explanations of the very reasonably priced fixed menus and generally made us feel relaxed and ready to enjoy the efforts of his kitchen staff. The food was splendid . All made with pride and presented beautifully. It was a great pleasure to be a customer in an establishment which wanted you to enjoy your visit. If you find yourself hungry in Southern Brittany then Le Chat botte is the place not to be missed. Bon Appetit !

ChefJérémie Louis and his team create an original, imaginative cuisine in which the quality of the ingredients remains the essential foundation for asuccessful dish. Restaurant is facing the inlet. Incredible sunset.
We stayed at the Chateau Locguenole when we visited Carnac and Quiberon in Brittany. Seldom have we had such a wonderful hotel and restaurant experience. This is a Chateaux & Relais property, therefore very expensive and very elegant. The service was, as expected, professional and efficient. But to our great delight, the staff couldn't have been friendlier and more welcoming. We were offered a choice among four reception rooms around the Chateau to have our pre-dinner drinks. We chose one with wood paneling, long French windows and doors, decorated with family portraits. We tried the 'cocktail du main' which was champagne with cherry brandy. Too sweet for my taste, but my husband happily finished mine. The dining room was downstairs in what had been the Chateau's kitchen. So it was full of French charm in a rustic way. We had a lovely table by the window, looking out over the lawns. It turned out we were the only ones dining. I don't know if the superb service we received was due to that, but superb it was. Our young waiter was friendly and open to our conversational overtures (turns out his cousin has a restaurant in Montreal). Friendly but not intrusive. He practised his English and we practised our French. He was helpful with suggestions. When he brought my duck entree he told me it was cooked very rare, but the chef had instructed him to tell me that if I preferred it more well done, he would be pleased to comply. I deferred to the chef's expertise, ate it rare and it was melt in the mouth tender. My husband had his usual steak, cooked perfectly to his medium rare specification and served hot. I don't remember what the sides, appetizers, amuse bouches and desserts were, but I do remember they were fantastically good, as was the recommended wine.We took our time and spent several hours over dinner. Although we were the only clients, we were not rushed and never received the impression they were willing us to hurry and go so they could go home.Flawless cooking, presentation and service. Eat here if you ever get the chance. It is worth every penny.

Wonderful village place with great staff, very helpful, great menu and a wonderful atmosphere. A 'simple' crêperie with a wonderful twist, you can choose your own ingredients for the the crepes. There are the 'standards' which equally good but you can design your own!A breton crêperie is the equivalent of your pizza restaurant but superior, It is nourishing without being overkill on the calories and nasty fats.

Tucked away but not difficult to find, with friendly and thoughtful service. One could have practically any filling you could think of. We liked it so much my wife and I ate there three times during our week in the Lorient area.

This "small Breton bistro" is supplied by local producers and invites you to taste Breton specialties (kig ha farz, crepes, galettes, oysters and shellfish, fried Breton cake).
Recommended by the concierge of our hotel. Easy to find with lots of parking opposite. The restaurant itself is a little unprepossessing but the proprietress was cheery and charming. The menu is simple with only a few choices but the food was excellent. I had foie gras and beef both of which were outstanding. My wife had vegetable veloute and fish du jour and also reported back very positively. We finishe with the chocolate and raspberry which was also really good. Unusual artwork on the walls but couldn't fault the food which is, after all why you go there!

We had dinner at the Creperie des Deux Tours in Hennebont. I have eaten a lot of crepes and galettes in Brittany, but the galette I had for dinner was by far the best. The dough is delicious and cooked in a generous amount of butter, making the edges of the galette slightly and perfectly crusty. The filling (cooked leeks in butter and cream, and cheese for my galette) was out of this world. The servings are enormous, so we took a dessert crepe (salted caramel) to go - it was amazing as well. The service is very friendly and accomodating. The menu has all the usual fillings as well as some creative ones. Location in the heart of Hennebont, you can take a walk before or after your meal to discover the medieval walls (yesterday there was an outdoor traditional band rehearsing) or the old church at the end of the street. Highly recommended - but the place is small so a reservation is advised if you are more than two.

I came to this restaurant with my two teenagers on Friday 3 April 2015 and the experience overall was very good. The food was excellent, imaginative, tasteful. The reception was very good. And as for price, i do not think that this restaurant was expensive at all for the quality, it is what i expected, cheaper to what i would normally pay to be frank, coming from abroad.
