This restaurant, Le Donjon, at Domaine Saint Clair, is situated in a dramatic setting on a steep hill overlooking the cliffs at Etretat. The people and service was fine--very few people spoke any English. The aperatifs were great. There was a tray of amuses with the aperitifs, half of which were fantastic, half of which were a good effort but failed, both of the fails related to freshness or preparation of fish, which was unexpected, being on the coast. Same was generally true of the courses in our 5-ish course degustation. Some were great, some were not so great, like the ris de veau, which didn't resemble sweetbreads we've had before--it was too large a piece of meat to have come from a calf. There seems to be a bit of acting too big for their britches--fancy efforts with some success and some failure. And, the dining room was excessively warm. After dark, they opened the windows which helped, but not very much (there seems to be a gnat problem before dusk). Overall we had a nice evening, but I'm not sure the quality meets the price.

Tearoom friendly and warm place with 50 teas, ayurvedic herb teas, rooibos. Cakes creations and prepared by Naty for teas and others. Rustic sandwiches in the diverse flavors (fishes, Normans, Goat(Tackle)) salads of the local market of Etretat. Breakfast
The coffee/the shop is inside one of the arches of the fortress, nicely done up. Not only can you eat (hot or cold) food on the spot, but you can also buy some local products.Food and drinks are nice, and you can sit inside or outside. If visiting the Jardins Suspendu, this is a "must do" visit.

For a lower rated this hotel punches above its weight. Donât be put off, this is a period property refurbished and decorated with style and class. The real real to stay here is the exclusive view... itâs really magical! Our room was very spacious, newly renovated bathroom with a fabulous full sized bath that you can just relax in for hours. The bed was ultra firm but we slept very well on both our two nights stay. Breakfast is extensive and people sat there for hours just drinking coffee and snacking, very relaxed and sadly a forgotten luxury these days. Catering both for families and couples, we spent many hours in the bar playing the odd game of billiards and drinking cocktails till late. Staff are a little stuffy and that fits with the period and expectations I assume. Restaurant is highly regarded and I certainly recommend anything with fish on the menu!

This was 1 of very few good restaurants open on a Sunday. The menu was interesting, staff efficient and friendly. There were 6 in out party, we all had different food, all excellent, fish caught locally, very fresh. Good choice of wine at decent price.

Donât understand all the raving by some people. This is a very âaverageâ, small French Bistro with limited space, NO VIEW of anything, and pretty ordinary fare.It was âOKâ at best. Absolutely nothing to rave about.

Valerie and Nicolas Thomas welcome you in their restaurant place has Etretat has 100m of his(her, its) beach(range) and its magnificent cliffs. Here the home-made is has the honor, we realize all our pancakes and crepes(pancakes) has the demand(request) in
Very nice, small restaurant with lots of crepes, salads and galettes. We took the Galette Savoyarde and Campagnarde. Really good galettes with delicious fillings of cheese, cured ham and with a nice, French salad. Afterwards we took a crepe for dessert with caramelized apples, creme fraiche and flambeed with Calvados. Very friendly staff and good prices in comparison to the tourist restaurants one street away. Definitely a good visit, you won't regret!

Had lunch with a group of friends and everyone loved it. After reading some reviews, we did not know what to expect. The menu had plenty of choices. The food was considered very good by everyone no matter what they ordered. The salmon was outstanding. The service was excellent. Waitress was caring and helpful. As was the management. Has dining inside and outside. Expected less and were pleasantly surprised.

Reservez uniquement par téléphone entre 10h30 et 14h30 et entre 18h30 et 21h sauf le mercredi Merci
In the morning I tried to make a reservation to eat outside on the terras. This is unfortunately not possible. The management only can guarantee a table INSIDE the restaurant if you make a reservation. On the terras outside there are only high tables with bar chairs available , so be aware . Inside the restaurant the atmosphere is good and the service too. Our waiter spoke very good English and was very helpful , in many French restaurants this is not the case I am afraid. There was NO menu in English available , I always find this very strange as this village is very touristy and the goal is to make as much money as possible for any restaurant I would say. To create a little English menu would cost little effort I think (tip to the managment ??) The food was excellent and presented in a nice way and came on time. The place is not really a family restaurant I have to say , unless your kids are great seafood lovers or can settle for fish and chips. For the rest I can only recommend this place !
