Reviews on French food in Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg District, Luxembourg. Esch-sur-Alzette (Luxembourgish: Esch-Uelzecht pronounced [ˈæʒ‿ˈuə̯ltsəɕt], German: Esch-an-der-Alzette or Esch-an-der-Alzig, French: Esch-sur-Alzette) is a commune with town status in south-western Luxembourg. It is the country's second "city", and its second-most populous commune, with a population of 33,286 inhabitants. It lies in the south-west of the country, on the border with France and in the valley of the Alzette, which flows through the town. The town is usually referred to as just Esch; however, the full name distinguishes it from the village and commune of Esch-sur-Sûre which lies 45 kilometres (28 miles) further north. The country's capital, Luxembourg City, is roughly 15 km (9.3 mi) to the north-east.

"One of oldest brasseries in Esch andthe only one serving genuine luxembourg home cooking cuisine".
This little brasserie is located on the town square across from the Hotel de Ville in Esch. It is a small unassuming little bar that serves a very limited menu at lunch time. They usually have one or two plat du jour specials at a modest price and nothing else. What makes it unique is that it often (but not always) serves authentic Luxembourg home style dishes. This is definitely not tourist fare but is the real stuff that working class Luxembourgers eat at home. For about ten or eleven euros, you get a bowl of soup and a main dish of good hearty Luxembourg food.

In a very quiet location, close to the city hall this hidden restaurant very well known by locals. Very cozy and with extremely friendly service, with an inviting price even though the kitchen is very well managed to your enjoyment prepared by a very competent chef. The restaurant does not have parking, but it is not difficult to find a parking space in one of the nearby parking lots. Enjoy that you are here for lunch and walk around some blocks to know the friendly center of this city in the south of Luxembourg.

Great small local place that is part of a Hotel. We usually will not stop at a restaurant that is connected to a hotel unless we are staying there. Glad we made this exception as all was well done. Food, service, location was absolutely first class. We recommend it.

I have been a frequent customer in the past,as i like the mix of traditional with the new.I also appreciate the reasonable wine prices in comparison to others restaurants in Luxemburg. They now have a new chef with new menu.I find it now more imaginative and hip but still solid and good food.If this Restaurant was in Luxemburg town and not in Esch the prices would be a lot higher.Very busy at lunch time, but more relaxed in evening, which i prefer.

The Moustache restaurant was created for you, to make you feel at home. Good food with seasonal products, nothing better to do a culinary trip around the most represented countries in Luxembourg. By late afternoon, come enjoy our famous "palettes apero" a
I chose this restaurant in Esch based on the Tripadvisor rate and pics. I was very pleased with the good background music and the deco itself. The service and the food were really good. Portions are big for a good price.

This was just a great discovery. The restaurant itself is pure good taste with elevated simplicity in decor. The service is impeccable and the hostess (owner?) was very friendly and accommodating. They took us in last minute on a weekend evening despite the fact that there had been some technical problem with it restodays booking and it had not been saved in their system. The outdoor terrace includes dining space as well as a pretty space to relax and sip a drink, before or after the meal.A rare find in Esch. The restaurant is easily reachable since close to the train station, and also has its own parking.Despite it being within the context of âResto Daysâ, thus offering a set menu at a super-friendly price, the choice on this menu was amazing, with many little extras dishes and nibbles.Argentinian prawn tails, lamb cooked to perfection with a light polenta and fig sauce, dorade carpaccio with strawberries, beef gravlax, and a sublime sort of pavlova/fruit salad ball for desert amongst other options.Simply wonderful from beginning to end! Also, a great selection of wines (also by the glass), and chosen specifically for the dishes proposed.Iâll most definitely return to explore more of the à la carte menu with eagerness â¥ï¸Thank you!

I went to the restaurant Postkutsch with my wife keeping in mind some previous evaluations claiming the staff was arrogant and unfriendly, and to make it short, we did not experience this at all.We had chosen the 5 dishes Tentation menu, actually the only menu that was available, but where you have 2 or 3 options to choose from per dish. I opted for the 3 glasses of wine extra, apéro included. The amuse-bouche was an excellent vegetables soup accompanied by two scampis. For the starter we chose the suggestion, which was a small part of a Saint Pierre with a chestnut sauce. Except for the quantity, this dish was great. After a trou normand, we continued with an amazingly soft Black Angus fillet.A true highlight was the enormous cheese trolley, with a felt 50+ different cheeses. Concerning the dishes you get high-quality food for good value, although the cuisine is not overwhelmingly original (but is more like a traditional, somewhat old-fashioned Bocuse style cuisine). The wine extra however looks overpriced. The restaurant decoration could also be qualified as oldfashioned and in the need of a slight refresh, but it is also very characteristic of this restaurant, as it remained unchanged during the last 25 years (my last visit) in spite of a move in 1995.The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, courteous, and some were even funny - or at least ready to accept a joke from my side.Overall a nice rediscovery, and I can recommend without any doubt.
