As it was Easter evening, we preferred to book a table at the Ferme du Pape. And Iâm glad we did, because the restaurant was fully booked, as pretty much everything else in Eguisheim. The location is very typically Alsatian, with wooden tables and chairs, wooden panels, red and white tablecloths etc. Our booked table was waiting for us, in a nice and quiet part of the restaurant. We were immediately served the âaperitifâ, pre-dinner with wine. I had a Sylvaner and my husband had a Riesling. To start with, we chose a most typical Alsatian dish, the âtarte flambéeâ, or âflammkuchenâ, which is basically a kind of pizza dough with creme fraiche (sour cream), more cheese and bacon. We had the one with Munster, a very rich Alsatian cheese. It was very good and tasty, but fortunately we decided to share it, otherwise I wouldnât have been able to eat my second dish.I had a rosti (some kind of hash brown) with sauerkraut and pork meat, smothered in a sour cream sauce. It was served blazing hot, in the very pan it was cooked into, and it was a very rich dish, full of different flavors, although, if I have to find a downside, there was too much sauce, and this made the rosti a bit squashy. My husband tried a more classic dish, a nice fat cordon bleu steak with fries, which he liked a lot. Service was kind, waiting time between dish was adequate, and we were not rushed to leave once we finished. Our final bill was 55â¬

We chose this restaurant for our anniversary dinner based on its great reviews on LaFourchette and its location (close to Eguisheim, where we stayed). The food was very very good; one of our top meals during three weeks in France. The service was impeccable, and the dining room is lovely. It was the perfect choice for a special dinner.

After visiting Domaine Barmes Buecher we walked our way down to Restaurant Au Soleil. A very walm welcome we received not only from our host but also from the locals in the restaurant. The owner made a real effort and was sincerely interested in our favourite tastes. We ordered Foie gras De Canard, Noix de Saint Jacques, Risotto - Magret de Canard - Gourmandise du Pâtissier and Gambas et Quinoa gourmand/Quasi de veau, Légumes/Tartelette au Citron revisitée. All accompanied by a very nice Gewurztraminer (can not remember any more detail). The atmosphere is relaxed and the restaurant is visited mainly by local people. Very much worth the visit, highly recommendable!

The food was good quality and prepared in their kitchen with care and passion. Quantities were solid and prices were reasonable.

The service here was rather stuffy. The Swiss travellers at the next table characterized the attitude toward us as rude. We have mixed abilities in French so sometimes need English explanation. A similar language-ability couple staying at our hotel had raved about the service here, so maybe we got an off night. While the next table had a very good looking daily special of sandre (white freshwater fish) that they said was very good. Our price fixe menus were just ok.

This small restaurant has been a very good choice for dinner. Not only the food was exquisite but also the personnel has been lovely and kind. The location is on a terrace under two big tents on small elegant tables (maybe just a little too close to each other...).The quality of food is excellent, with some proposals that make it clear they want your dinner to be special: plates are delicious and also wonderfully presented. The prices are not the lowest but the food quality is worth a few euros more.Go and enjoy!

We had an excellent lunch at Auberge Alsacienne. We had been walking with our dogs and settled here for lunch. We had a menu and all dishes were great, a starter with salmon, coquilles St. Jacques, sea bass (I think), very tender steak, and lovely desserts.RecommendableHello Johan17,Thank you for your message, we are happy that our table made you have a good time.See you in Alsace !

I picked this restaurant because of other peoples reviews. They were absolutely correct. The atmosphere is great. The staff was cordial and attentive. The meals were the best we had on our trip to Europe. My grandson had rack of lamb which was superb. Are meals were all wonderful and the Chefs presentation was perfect. We saved room for dessert and were not dissappointed. 5 Stars to Vieux Porche

Whilst the food we had here was perfectly adequate, our evening was completely ruined by the dreadful service and poor attitude shown by the waiting staff. We sat down and ordered at 7.20 and by 9.00, having had our starters, were still waiting for our main courses. When they finally came I expressed (politely) our dissatisfaction, but again we ended up waiting to have those plates cleared away and the offer of dessert. By this time it was too late and I eventually managed to catch the eye of the waitress who offered no apology and was really quite rude in her manner, She said they were busy (which they weren't), but in my experience and opinion, restaurants shouldn't have more covers than they can cope with, and should certainly be more polite when customers are understandably frustrated. The table next to us were having similar issues, and they also left without ordering dessert or more drinks.
