Reviews on French food in Douala, Littoral Region, Cameroon. Douala (German: Duala) is the largest city in Cameroon and its economic capital. It is also the capital of Cameroon's Littoral Region. Home to Central Africa's largest port and its major international airport, Douala International Airport(DLA), it is the commercial and economic capital of Cameroon and the entire CEMAC region comprising Gabon, Congo, Chad, Equatorial Guinea, CAR and Cameroon. Love this place, Had visited their both Branches in Douala and Yaounde more than 25 times. Lively atmosphere. Favourite is File de Capitaine avec le Riz and refreshing fresh Juice. Lot of varieties in Bread and with different shapes as well.

I've been here a few times as I stay nearby when I'm in Douala. It's mostly French style food with some Cameroonian options like ndole. I had the capitaine fish this time and others tried the steak and rabbit. All was good. Pretty good wine list too and service excellent. Nice ambience with good air conditioning which one needed last week. Well worth a try if you are in the area.

I haven't been upstairs to the restaurant but at the bar the selection of bitings and pizza is good and all are delicious. The bar staff are friendly and efficient, great selection of drinks for any taste. If you are in Douala you should drop in, they also have a big screen for football matches but it isn't intrusive.Thank u. Hope to see u soon

We only went here as we were driving out of town early in the morning. They opened up for us a few minutes early when they noticed us standing outside. The pain au raisin was expensive but the best we've had outside France. Everything was just wonderful. My wife thought the baguette we bought tasted a little like soap, but I didn't notice that...

Almost never finish my food here because it is always massive but also super tasty. The tastiest starter is the cream scallops. The hosts are really friendly even when they come across you in town. The waitresses are very nice and the karaoke is very delightful. I love this place!!!

Douala is lucky to be blessed with quite a few decent restaurants (or maybe I should say that it is the foodies of Douala who are blessed!), but Le C is certainly one of the best, for a number of reasons. From your arrival in the restaurant, you are made to feel special, and are usually encouraged to sit in the lounge area with a cocktail and some nibbles while studying the menu. There are excellent alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails, and the ambience is relaxed and cosy. The service is attentive without being overbearing. The menu is fairly varied, although I usually end up going for either a starter or a main with prawns, as I know they always do them well.I guess that what marks out le C from some other restaurants is the feeling of class and quality. The food is always beautifully presented, you are always made to feel very welcome and the service is very professional - altogether a very good evening out. Highly recommended. The only caveat, as you would expect, is the price - quality like this goes hand in hand with Le C being one of the more expensive restaurants in Douala, but it is still worth going now and then for a treat.

I have lived in Douala for years and never once thought to visit. Made a change for Valentineâs Day this year and was glad I did. They didnât note our reservation but they had a seat for 2. My advice confirm your reservation the day after you call to book it. The food was awesome. The service was nice and in general the experience was lovely. At the end of the meal, I got given a beautiful rose which I felt for a second I was going to pay for The food prices are high but totally worth it. The wine is quite moderate though. Would definitely revisit

We have been wanting to visit Saga Africa for quite a while since it looks so inviting when you pass. On a practical note itâs great you can park outside even though it is a busy road and inside you have the choice of air conditioning or not, both locations are equally atmospheric. Food was very tasty, I went chinese, my hubby went for pizza, 6,500cfa each. They do loads of local recipes which is great if you fancy Ndole or Poulet dg! Prices seemed a little high for local food, 7,500cfa for half a poulet dg and 10-15,000cfa for roast fish. We were in a large group and everyone enjoyed their meals. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful which is always a bonus. I would thoroughly recommend Saga Africa!

I have rarely enjoyed such an excellent dinner last evening in Douala. Hosted by a good friend we were received by the Manager and owner Gérôme who is from Bretagne and has lived man years in Douala. His recommendations were exceptional (grilled huge shrimps and to start with a cheese based dish which was hit with slices of pear. Truly delicious. And the wine list was also most impressive with the recommended Bordeaux, remarkable. I highly recommend and will go whenever I visit Douala, for family, friends or business associates. Even on my own!
