Damme (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈdɑmə]) is a municipality located in the Belgian province of West Flanders, six kilometres northeast of Brugge (Bruges). The municipality comprises the city of Damme proper and the villages of Hoeke, Lapscheure, Moerkerke, Oostkerke, Sijsele, Vivenkapelle (nl), and Sint-Rita (nl). On 1 January 2006, the municipality had a population of 10,899. The total area is 89.52 km², giving a population density of 122 inhabitants per km².

Such a beautiful cozy, historical little town with such a great restaurant, cozy atmosphere, friendly & fantastic service! They serve the most fantastic asparagus with different options: plain, with sauce, shrimp or smoked salmon which they smoke themselves, awesome shrimp croquettes, great house wine & âblonde house beerâ ... & the best to come... Tarte Tatin & Irish coffee! Fantastic!! Great stop!!

We were in Bruges for a few days to celebrate my wife's birthday and I decided to look for something special for her birthday dinner. I chose Le Mystique from on-line research and booked through their website. The booking was quickly acknowledged followed by a message to provide a credit card number. This I did by telephone and received rapid confirmation. Prior to the due date I received a text reminder.We were greeted in a most friendly manner on arrival and shown straight to our reserved table - one of the best in the small restaurant area that was in use that evening. Although I had been asked in advance whether we had any allergies or intolerances I had unfortunately failed to mention that my wife does not eat fish.As the menu is based on a five course tasting menu - there is an a la carte option too - the chef was consulted about how my wife could have her five courses without fish. This was done without fuss and a suitable list of courses was quickly devised.By the time we had an appetiser and other little treats between courses it felt as if we had eight course rather than five! Each offering was exquisite in both taste and presentation and we had a most delightful meal which will long be remembered for all the right reasons.Service was efficient by well informed staff who seemed genuinely eager to please.The meal was not cheap but this was fine dining done very well. Following a wonderful 15 day SCENIC River Cruise from Budapest to Amsterdam, my wife and I spent 3 nights in Amsterdam and 4 in Bruges (Belgium) at Hotel de Orangerie. While in Bruges, we dined at the Park Restaurant. Axel (co-owner) with his brother Frederic (co-owner, CHEF) run an INCREDIBLE SHOW. From start to finish, the attention, food, adult beverages, ambiance, email follow-up "pre and post" were ALL what the WORLD needs more of. Simply AMAZING - Peter & Ann.

We stopped here on a hot summer afternoon after cycling from Bruges. I decided on a steak and a glass of sangria for lunch. The food was great and the meat was well done. The sauce was also very well textured. The fruits in the sangria could have been cut smaller but either way it was no problem. Will go back when I visit Damme again.

While cruising around in the area we were guided to this place by the positive comments on TA...unfortunately our experience wasn't so great.Average food, (very) arrogant service,...what a shame wasting such a beautiful location. Not a place we would visit again.

We initially stayed for a week at the De Groene Wandling always having breakfast and occasionally having lunch and/or dinner. We enjoyed the location right next to 2 canals by hiking, bike riding, and/or picnicking every day. As we were visiting my mother who lived nearby and her health took a turn for the worse, we at stayed for another week. We couldn't have been more pleased. The accommodations were wonderful and the food was excellent even by Belgian high standards as well as being reasonably priced. Also, the gracious and warm welcome by the owners made it a real pleasure to be there. We would highly recommend De Groene Wandling to anyone wishing to have a wonderful meal, to stay for a night, a weekend, or even several weeks.Dear Sir David N.Thank you for your visit, your warm engagement and your excellent rating.This kind of feedback motivates us all, with pride and joy !

Chose this restaurant based on previous TA reviews and what a great restaurant.Tasteful decor, friendly and helpful staff.Food sublime, filet of lamb ( nicely matured) cooked to perfection with rosemary jus.Wife had brill with noodles, samphire,hint of spice.Highly recommend this place.

This is a real family restaurant with husband in the kitchen and wife front of house. Beautiful old building with modern additions and a stylish courtyard garden. We visited on a gloomy November day for lunch and they had lit all the candles and the fire so it was welcoming and cosy. Set lunch outstanding value at 39euro - seabass tartare, pheasant with mushrooms, chocolate dessert (with delicious amuse bouches before, and chocolates and waffles with coffee) and we wholeheartedly recommend it!
