Had Friday night dinner and was pleased with the food and the value. Pleasant staff, good selection, and an overall great experience. Close to Castle of Breteuil.

Lovely Friday night, English speaking kind staff. I made reservations through the phone. Nice music inside, better go there as a group and taste many dishes as much as you can. Spend the whole night. Delicious Brie with truffles on the cheese platter. We haven't tried the cheeseburger and heard afterwards its quite famous. So give it a try!

Our friends brought us to this restaurant for a weekend lunch and it did not disappoint. The food presentation was beautiful and the flavours delicious. They were also very accommodating to requests from our friend who had dietary restrictions.

A few minutes walk from their hotel, Le Manoir de Sauvegrain, the restaurant is a converted old house. Staff was excellent and very helpful (particularly given my high school French). Fois gras was nice, dessert of baked apple with caramelized crumbles was really good and went particularly well with a very nice plum eau de vie.

Had a wonderful road trip today from Versailles to see the Chateau in Rambouillet. Driving through the wonderful Valley of Chevreuse, we stopped for lunch at Le Normand for an extraordinary meal. Shared the escargots for the entree, for our mains we had the Coquilles St. Jacques and the Duck with a Beurre Blanc. Both mains were served with five vegetables artfully arranged on the square platter. Some sides were in small tart pans, others in lidded jars. The effect was both tasty and enchanting.

Since moving from the states we have enjoyed this restaurant a number of times. We bring our friends for the ancient atmosphere of a medieval village. The food is good and very filling. Of course you can get one crepe with a little chocolate sauce which there is not much to that but you decide what you want in your galettes or crepes. I had a seafood crepe that was delicious. We would highly recommend it. It is custom to order cidre (cider) with a crepe (sweet). The galettes are for savory dishes. The cider has a little bit of alcohol, light and little sweet and very good. (3%). I did not have the same experience as Sylvie M. We have never had to have a reservation. We just walk in. She did ask us if we had a reservation and we said no but she sat us anyway. There were plenty of places available. Our galettes and crepes were not dry. The place usually has people and sometimes overflowing into the large room adjoining so sometimes we wait a bit. Our waiter was helpful when we had a group of English speakers. We've gone by ourselves and with friends. The owner was very friendly to us personally even more when she found out we are now living in Chevreuse right down the street. They only serve lunches and dinners on certain days. We've been to both types of meals. It's a casual atmosphere. Reasonably priced compared to other types of French restaurants.

Chevrese is a very charming small town about 30 kilmometers from Paris. This little restaurant is in the centre of town. An old fashioned fireplace greets you as you walk in and the host owners are gracious and friendly. The menu is classic northern French cuisine and each dish is beautifully presented. Between the four of us we enjoyed oysters, home made terrine, jugged hair, millefeuille of scallops, home baked bread and a delectable selection of cheese and desserts. If you're in the area it's worth seeking it out.

The portions are huge and my salad Landaise was delicious (couldn't finish it). I loved watching the mountains of food arrive at the tables, maybe that's why it's called the mountain. Generous to say the least.BonjourMerci d'avoir pris le temps de laisser cet avis, les portions sont aussi généreuses que nos clients sont gentils Bien cordialement Norbert ARMAND
