We had a bad experience at one of the hyppopotamus's restaurants and received 25⬠to spend in any of their restaurants. The food was very average for the price paid. I asked if I could substitute the meat (for something cheaper) on the only menu they offered in the evening but it is not possible as apparently head office make all the decisions. The service was excellent but we won't go there again for an expensive very average meal.

I visited this little gem last night whilst in Paris on business.the menu has a great selection of crepes and moules. My crepe was huge and delicious and arrived within minutes. The staff were friendly and efficient. Embarrassingly my French is very rusty but they spoken English which meant I didnât even need to try! Our food was very reasonably priced and I would highly recommend this lovely restaurant.

The fish was delicious - no question. The selection of cheese was as well. And the dessert was very good.But... we ordered a glass of apetizer and a juice to start with. I would have expected just a little something to snack with, but nothing was offered. When we ordered the cheese and the dessert, I specified that we would share both. They came in the same time though, so when we finished the cheese, the ice cream for the dessert was half melted and the brioche was half cold. I mentioned it but they ignored my remark. So the food is great, but the place not the best to my taste. We Forgot to give you something to Eat with the appetizers, it wes a mistake, i'm sorry. I think that the Waiter didn't unterstead you about the cheeses and the desserts. His english isn't fluently, i apologie. It may be the same about about you mentionned This mistake. Thanks to Coment your experience about our restaurant, and many thanks about the good quality of the food Hope too see you another time Antoine

Two of us stopped for lunch on a hot August afternoon. We were greeted and served by Dimitri who has a great personality and is a fine waiter. We chatted with two very friendly local ladies who were enjoying their Sunday afternoon wines. We had the salmon salad and cold chicken, both very fresh with ample portions. We actually found L'Instant by accident but we would return to it and see the Romanesque cathedral 1 block away.

L'etable is actually a charcuterie and cheese shop, with a few tables outside. We came upon it while walking around St. Germain, and a very good find it was. They offer plates of various kinds of ham, sausage, pate etc., with salad if you like that sort of thing. (Rabbits do. I don't.), The cheeses looked - and smelled - first rate.Everything was beautifully made, fresh and full of flavour and texture. There is a short, excellent wine list. The Rue des Louviers is quiet and pleasing. The prices are good value for money at this quality. The service, by a cheerful, motherly lady, was prompt, considerate and helpful. One can, of course, buy charcuterie or cheese to eat elsewhere, but a light, sit-down lunch on a very hot day was delightful. We departed much refreshed.Highly recommended for both food and service.Dear John,Many thanks for your kind message. I and Lucia, the motherly lady :-) appreciate a lot ! Hope to see you soon,Aymeric

The service was efficient- not friendly but fine. Itâs the food I want to complain about.French onion soup was flavorless except for the heavy cheese. Worse was the beef burgundy. If there was any wine in that sauce I could not taste it. Bland mashed potatoes with virtually every dish on the menu. The creme brûlée was fine at least. I hope you will avoid this restaurant so that the next time I stay in Paris there will be a new restaurant in that very convenient spot.

A very nice surprise in Saint-Germain-en-Laye. The service is very nice and friendly, a small restaurant but really charming, there is a menu for 25 or 32 eur depending on the choice. The menu is really attractive, with a mix of good quality materials. We took the ceviche and the gambas. Both entries were well prepared and nicely presented. The main courses are nice as well. The entrecôte comes with a fantastic smashed potatoes and the wok of plume ibérique is really tasty. A place to come back for its good price quality.

A perfect evening, with truly great food, a very warm wecome and impeccable service. Every facet of the meal was of the highest quality, from the delicious ingredients to the sophisticated combination of flavors to the beautiful presentation, including 1/2 bottle of wine per person that perfectly complemented the food. Every mouthful of all three courses was memorable. This wonderful restaurant is worth a special trip.
